I think it could be more to do with stopping the analogues, they say smoking keeps your metabolism high, when you stop it goes down? I really don't know. I've put over a stone on, never have before in my life but there again, I'm coming 50, went through the normal female alterations forced due to chemo and am pretty blerdy lazy these days

Ive also put weight on since ive kicked the fags nearly a year ago.I used to be 11 stone and am now 12 and a bit.I excercise regular aswell but im convinced the gain is due to ditching the fags.

I have only put on about 7 pounds, but I know people who have put on 20 or more, since they quit smoking. I think it is due to an increased appetite.

I'd say it's more down to not inhaling all those chemicals that make you hyper And . . . well they did me anyway, that and a better sense of taste/increased appetite. I've put on a few pounds around my middle, but that could well be as much to do with my age as anything. . . . but I refuse to let it bother me as I feel so much better.

I was thinking that VG being sweet therefore must be sugar rich maybe getting absorb into the body? Perhaps not worded this right, I know what I'm trying to say but cant put it into words properly .....stupid brain Anyway what I'm fumbling to ask is is this a possibility? If I switch to PG would it make a difference? Or am I talking rubbish?

I asked a similar sort of question when I first started vaping on UKV forum and got laughed of the site, all I asked was if their was calories in eliquid which they must be. My wife has put a stone on and I have put about 6lbs on and our eating habits haven't changed

I asked was if their was calories in eliquid which they must be. That's what I meant to ask . Did you get any answers? On a different note it is important to know diabetics surely would be concerned.

James is doing some alcohol and fat free flavours in his Naturals Range www.paradisevapeuk.com/Why not ask him about sugar content? I don't want to depress you but I was considering asking whether vaping made one lose weight ???

I've no idea if we absorb the glycerine when we vape in the same way as when we eat foods that contain it but this may be of interest - "In foods and beverages, glycerol serves as a humectant, solvent, and sweetener, and may help preserve foods. It is also used as filler in commercially prepared low-fat foods (e.g., cookies), and as a thickening agent in liqueurs. Glycerol and water are used to preserve certain types of leaves. As a sugar substitute, it has approximately 27 calories per teaspoon and is 60% as sweet as sucrose. Although it has about the same food energy as table sugar, it does not raise blood sugar levels, nor does it feed the bacteria that form plaques and cause dental cavities. As a food additive, glycerol is labeled as E number E422. Glycerol is also used to manufacture mono- and di-glycerides for use as emulsifiers, as well as polyglycerol esters going into shortenings and margarine. It is also used as a humectant (along with propylene glycol labelled as E1520 and/or E422) in the production of snus, a Swedish-style smokeless tobacco product. As used in foods, glycerol is categorized by the American Dietetic Association as a carbohydrate. The U.S. FDA carbohydrate designation includes all caloric macronutrients excluding protein and fat. Glycerin has a caloric density similar to table sugar, but a lower glycemic index and different metabolic pathway within the body, so some dietary advocates accept glycerin as a sweetener compatible with low carbohydrate diets." Taken from - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glycerol
