if i intend to mix using PG 54mg as a base and add VG to it, 70/30 ratio, i should have double PG in stock? ie 200mls PG 100mls VG? thinking of starting with banoffee to keep things simple

You'll need less PG in stock than VG, as most of the 70% will be made up from the nic base and flavourings (assuming they are Pg based as well).

You need to factor in the total PG content including the PG base as well as the flavourings. With a small amount of flavouring, you are kind of in the region of equal amounts of PG:VG diluent to add to the PG NIC.
EDITED - also depends on what target strength nic you want
Are you using a juice calculator?

Ash i havent started yet! bit confused about the PG and VG thing i looked at the kits and the PG is 54mg
do i need a nic base on top of PG and VG? i want a PG base
i'm not too worried about the flavourings cos i figured 10mls will go a long way even if i made 30mls bottles up
can you recommend an idiot proof calculator? prefer to deal in mls rather than drops (i'd lose count too easily)
oh and should i get a dripper thingy to test the vape?

www.ejuice.breaktru.com/or www.c9v-forum.com/Resources/Calc/calc.htmNic base contains concentrated nicotine in either a PG or VG liquid. Ignore VG for the time being and to make this simple, but yes, you do need nic base and you do need non-nic PG to water it down. If you want to make a 100% PG juice, you will need to add normal PG to dilute the strength down. The calculators will work out the volumes for you. The weaker the target strength of your final mix, the more non-nic PG you need to add. Flavourings mostly contain PG as well. So if you add flavourings, the total PG content is split between nic base, PG diluent, and PG flavours. If you add VG in as well, then that reduces your overall PG content. If you are just starting, I would think 100ml of PG and VG diluent would be fine. Use a calculator to do the hard work and trust the figures - they should give you mls and drops figures. A dripper is always good to test juice ... try a 306 from the usual places.

that looks like a good deal ... you'd need to get some non-nic PG as well since it only comes with VG Use the cloud9 calculator link ... it's a web browser

Got some PG! Were you confused when you first started? Did it all just click or you muddle through?

Got some PG! Were you confused when you first started? Did it all just click or you muddle through? Great advice from Ash there When I started, I looked at some other mixers recipes and then put the figures into the calc to see if I was doing it right. It was a good way of getting used to the calc and gave me confidence that I was on the right lines. You are also in the right forum for any help if needed.

Some are weak, some are strong. If you post which ones you are wanting to use, we can advise on the recommended % provided we have experience of it. Mix small amounts (2-5ml) with 5-10% flavouring. Record what you did. Steep it. Vape it in a dripper. Assess and add more flavour if needed. Record how much you are adding. Repeat. When happy mix a larger amount.
