Hi folks, New member here, in fact this is my first forum ever! I've been doing some research on the academic databases this afternoon while I impatiently wait for my first ecig (an Innokin iTaste VV kit) to arrive... I tried one a couple of years back, a rather primitive model which required dripping juice directly onto this filthy piece of fabric with cables coming out of it, and unscrewing and re-screwing the whole thing back together after every few puffs. It was an acrid-tasting revelation. I have since decided to give up on combustion altogether but explore the throat hit and cumulonimbus-forming possibilities of battery-sizzled, sweet-tasting fluids. This was partly triggered by the discovery of making homemade PG or VG-based tinctures of various psychoactive botanicals of which many of you are surely aware of. I'm just glad I happened to be alive in these revolutionary times. Anyhow, I have just found a fresh although rather lengthy academic paper on the effects of vaping on health. I tried attaching it to this post but I was told this forum had exceeded its attachment capacity, so I have uploaded it here (let me know if this works) dl.dropbox.com/u/74988568/Acute%20impact%20of%20e-cigs%20on%20cotinine%20levels%20and%20lung%20function.pdf pleased to meet you all, by the way!

It is concluded that, for the e-cigarettes tested, the effect of active and passive e-cigarette smoking on serum cotinine levels is similar to that generated by tobacco cigarette smoking. Moreover, neither a brief session of active e-cigarette smoking nor a 1 h passive e-cigarette smoking significantly interfere with normal lung function. In contrast, acute active and passive tobacco cigarette smoking significantly undermine lung function. Future research should target the health effects of long-term e-cigarette usage, including the effects of nicotine dosage. In addition, research and validation via independent organizations must be incorporated within the design and implementation of the e-cigarette technology in order to protect public health.
Boils down to vaping is better but they still want to control it and us

So we now know that passive E cig "smoke" has no effect.I do wonder though just what type pf E Cig they are using?Would a mod with different wicks in its attys(SS Mesh and Silicone)show consistent results?Still, vaping is aValid and effective way of reducing tobacco harm.

I thought I'd post the article 'undiluted' in case any of you wanted to read up on the fascinating methodology and analysis methods used... The article is very relevant as it is possibly the first test conducted using such rigorous approach and exhaustive comparative methods (as some of you have perceptively noted). The vast majority of recent literature on the subject is mostly watery sociological stuff on 'attitudes towards ecig use among teenagers' or 'beliefs about health benefits among ecig users'. For the first time we have some kind of conclusive evidence that vaping leaves lung function largely unaffected, and that is surely good news. Unfortunately the tobacco lobby seems to be making steady progress and the possibility of a blanket EU ban on all 'electronic nicotine delivery systems' is very real. Remember that 'snus' (Swedish oral tobacco) is banned across the EU as a real alternative to smoking, which makes Sweden the only country in Europe where smokers constitute less than 10% of the population, all thanks to snus. I'd hate to sound like a scaremongerer, but what are the options for kitting oneself out for the possibility of a 'vapocalypse' (a ban on all vaping paraphernalia) long-term?

Vaperino, I know where you are coming from. I am one of a handful in the uk who owns a purple days vape. For peeps unsure google it. I don't think anyone can get them anymore, even in the states.
But anyway. I love this vaping business.
