Right I don't seem to have any probs in private browsing I don't know what that means. The thing about the ipad Chef Lew is even if you have an app that says chrome for ipad or what have you it's actually just the clothes of the browser your seeing and everything is actually still going through safari. I know that doesn't make sense but you can't truly use a different browser on ipad or iPhone. It can look like you are but you aren't. I'm not even making sense to my self now! Chris. Well everyday is a school day! I never knew that, Chris! I suppose that's apple being apple!

This is worse than ever now, I don't even know if anyone has posted a fix as I can't see any new posts anywhere for more than a few seconds. If there is a fix can someone pm it to me? Cheers Chris.

I'm on my ipad 90% of the time Griegster and as I said before the problem with apple products is you can't actually use another browser, you can dress safari up in chrome, or Firefox clothes but the page rendering is still done by safari, there is one exception opera mini but that is not truly a browser, it compresses pages at a remote server but doesn't offer true browser functions, it's designed to save data use for mobile users really. It didn't start happening until about a week ago, at first only if I pressed the back button, but now I can't see anything new. In private browsing, logged in, logged out, chrome, dolphin safari. I can't really use the forum as I have to log out then back in to see anything new and even then I only get one shot before I have to do it again. I'm essence I have to log out and in each time I want to read a thread! Heed battered! Chris

Thats bad news Chris, perhaps my problem, which is not a great hassle, is different to yours. I hope you can get it sorted.

I'm sorry Chris, I'm still searching, but haven't found a fix yet Well it seems to have stopped for now at least. I was getting withdrawal! Thanks for your help Chrissie, I'll let you know if it starts playing up again. I'm don't have a clue what's causing it if I'm totally honest. It did it in every configuration I tried and as I said started about a week ago maybe? Thanks again. Chris

Hi I think the issue is the server is sending the wrong headers. It's an apache/proboard and internet explorer combo. If go to the cog (settings) - internet options (at bottom) - settings (browser history section) - tick every time I visit a web page and then press ok till your out. This will fix it but it will make your internet browsing a smidge slower mind! Although an old post: support.proboards.com/thread/330596/cache that no-cache meta is missing and it's not in the board server header.

Agua, any idea if it would help if I add that meta to our global header, or does it need to be in Proboards server header? Chris, I'm glad to hear it is OK for you at the moment

Hi if you put it in the global header it will force all browsers that read meta (99.9%) to do it. I think the meta is easier than the server one to implement/remove if need be. I used to run some big boards like gatecrasher etc lol It seems strange it was core to the forum and it's not on the current version. Is the only obvious thing I can see.

Cheers aguavape As it's a very old fix, I'm concerned it may not be compatible with the latest Proboards coding. So I'll leave it for a while & only add it if folks are still having a problem
