hello, i'm a new user (of the board and ecigs), and i just wanted to ask a few questions as there is a lot of information to take in.
I have ordered the basic starter kit from sky cig, as they had an offer on and was only £10 so i thought I'd try it (i am aware the battery isn't very good).
At first i thought i wanted one that looked like a real cigarette which is why i ordered the Skycig, but after doing a bit of research, on message boards etc. i've come to realise these are the worst performing and most expensive. I like the idea of using liquid, so I've looked into clearomizers and cartomizers. Are there any real benefits of using cartomizers over clearomizers? Because as far as i can tell clearomizers last longer and are easier to fill.
Because i can't spend too much in one go I'd prefer to buy small items weekly, so would it be feasible for me to buy a clearomizer to start with to fit on my Skycig battery and some liquid, then the next week buy a spare and some more liquid and then the week after buy a better battery and charger?
Finally, what would be the best clearomizer to get? preferably one that isn't too big, I'm not too bothered about it holding a lot of liquid.
Thank you in advance

Welcome to you Danny. You know what I'd do in your position, get your Skycig and see how you get on with it first. That will then give you a much better idea of what you'd personally like to improve the vaping experience for you. Yes, it's not the best kit out there . . . but neither is it the worse and for the outlay, it's worth the try. I'd also wait until you have enough money saved up to buy a better complete kit outright, as you'll find it cheaper in the long run than buying bits and bobs separately and paying postage on all those individual items.

Thanks, yeah i was going to mention obviously i need to see how i get on with the Skycig first, but I'm a bit of a research addict, just wanted to develop my knowledge in advance really, as it's really complicated. out of interest how readily available are ecig products offline?

Danny welcome. I too started on a Skycig. The advice given by Perpetua is spot on. I would add, however, that the cartos that come with the Skycig can be refilled with liquid of your choice much cheaper than buying more from Skycig. So don't throw empty ones away, keep them as spares to be refilled.

There's no hole Danny, it's a button that has to be pressed whilst taking a draw. All but the basic cig-alikes have a fire button

My riva battery has no hole near the thread. Maybe you're looking at the 'fire button' (you press the button, and it makes it work). They do not work just by sucking, and those more knowlegeable than me will tell you why that is better

Haha must have been the picture. Would having to use a button not be more annoying?

They do not work just by sucking, and those more knowlegeable than me will tell you why that is better It's better for two main reasons. First, the little switch that detects the airflow when you suck on an automatic battery is very delicate and prone to breaking / sticking in the 'on' position. Secondly it requires a hole down the centre of the battery and if you get any juice down there it's buggered.

So you have to hold the button in? Yep - and if you quickly press it 3 times, it dectivates it, so it wont 'go off' in your pocket. 3 more quick presses and it's back in action

So you have to hold the button in? It becomes second nature within a couple of minutes
