I'm seriously thinking of putting in a bulk order of ready mixed juice 60/40 VG Now I was wondering if I could freeze it… I know I would have to find some 50 ml glass bottles and transfer it from the plastic bottles it comes in… but is there any reason why I shouldn't do this?
Thanks Trev

I don't see why not. I have both PG and VG in bottles in the freezer.
These do not "freeze". They are still liquid but appear to be thicker because of the low temperature.

Hi Pacer, According to Kurt (a chemist on ECF), whilst he advocates the storing benefits of bulk unflavoured nicotine liquid in a freezer, re. storing ready made e-liquid: "Flavors are probably the most unstable part of e-juice, and the presence of water in them will hasten their decomposition into nasty tasting products. Fridge cold does not really change this a lot, it is dependent on the flavor itself. Fruits are especially prone, since they are esters that tend to hydrolyze to organic acids (sour, vinegar, vomit taste) and organic alcohols (wet-dog, funky taste)."So based on his comments I don't think you'll significantly increase the shelf life of e-liquid this way.

Many kind thanks for the great post postmodernsmoking, I had some serious reservations’ about freezing flavoured liquid for the reasons you have stated… shame as it looks like I will have to have a go at mixing my own, something I really don’t want to get into.

I don't think anything will happen overnight! Stock up a years supply of ready mixed and freeze some base. You have plenty time to experiment with mixing. start with just having a go with one or two flavours

I have loads of bottles in the freezer, mainly ones I bought and don't vape but stuck them in there 'just in case' hope they don't turn yuck

If, what the ECF chemist is saying is true, why does the same thing not happen to actual fruits that are frozen? Or, for that matter, fruit juice that is frozen?
Seems strange to me that this only happens to e-juice flavouring.

Good point Lobey, but unfortunately my biochemistry isn't up to expanding further or explaining his comments; I was just passing the info on from someone who appears to be more qualified than I do on the subject! I think it does also apply to fruits/juices. i.e. I'm not sure if a pasteurized sealed carton of apple juice lasts significantly longer whether frozen or not. But I'm outside of my expertise here. ???

Just buy in 75mg of nicotine, and stick it in the freezer, start mixing your own now too, it's really very simple. There are many calculators out there, and the mixology section is very very helpful, we won't bite
