CNN saying one of the dead is an 8yr old child. Just appalling.

its real sad that the innocent suffer, always hit an easy target ,Rip and speedy recovery to the injured. Third bomb was a eletrical fire www.nypost.com/p/news/national/two_explosions_at_boston_marathon_iMR0LCkcwASg0RQfVsH1yIBOSTON — Two explosions shattered the euphoria of the Boston Marathon finish line on Monday, sending authorities out on the course to carry off the injured while the stragglers in the 26.2-mile trek from Hopkinton were rerouted away from the smoking site of the blasts. A federal law-enforcement source confirmed to The Post there are at least 12 dead and 50 injured. Massachusetts General Hospital was treating 10 people with amputated limbs and all operating rooms were on hold, sources said. Authorities have a identified a suspect, a Saudi national, who is currently being guarded in a Boston hospital with shrapnel wounds. The Boston Globe reported that there were up to 100 injuries stemming from the explosion. Law-enforcement sources said at least the first explosion occurred in the lobby of a nearby hotel. AUTHORITIES ID SUSPECT IN MARATHON BOMBINGS NEW YORK INCREASES SECURITY FOLLOWING MARATHON EXPLOSIONS PHOTOS: EXPLOSIONS ROCK BOSTON MARATHON EXPLOSIONS CAUSE UK TO REVIEW MARATHON SECURITY "There were two bombs that exploded near the finish line in today's Boston Marathon," The Boston Marathon's official Facebook page read. "We are working with law enforcement to understand what exactly has happened." According to reports, authorities in Boston found two more explosive devices that had not gone off and police were dismantling them. The airspace above the city was ordered cleared as well and was briefly designated a no-fly zone, which has since been lifted, by the FAA following the explosions. Police confirmed a third explosion at JFK Library in Boston. Boston fire officials previously said that the third explosion was linked to the ones that occurred at the Marathon but later updated their information to say that the explosion was not related. There were no injuries reported from the third bombing.

I guess there has always been slaughter, death and destruction, it's human nature, but as the population expands, resources get scarcer and people are thrown more together than one would ultimately like, tensions rise and things are going to happen more often than they have in recent times. We no doubt will end up destroying this planet, it we haven't already. How to stop it? Well if i knew that i wouldn't be fixing boilers lol but I would suggest people bringing up their kids to be nice people with respect for others, cos obviously anyone who could indescriminately bomb people don't care a fig about anything or anyone, the murdering family in the news today is a case in point, Law and Order in this country will have to get a lot stronger imo, but if i had small children today I would not feel too happy about their future, sadly, maybe make everyone vape, cos were all nice peep's

They are now saying the bombs were filled with ball bearings and placed in metal waste bins on the pavement. Apart from the two dead there are lots of shrapnel wounds and amputations being done at the hospitals.

Has it been confirmed that they were bombs? I turned the radio off a while back, got sick to death with the hysterical conjecture and contradictions. Don't get me wrong, what happened is terrible but the way the media whip up the fear factor etc. makes me want to puke.

Nasty OneDay, You would of thought they would have had that one covered, either remove the bins or seal them, we do. Saying that, if you want to do stuff there is always a way, ie they thought it might be backpacks earlier. It's a bit ****ing sad when you get blown up watching a marathon though, hope the bastards get what's coming to them.

The difference is Bluefish we've had decades of experience thanks to the IRA so sealing bins, manholes, etc etc is just second nature to us now

Bluefish I'll re-write my question. Up until the time I turned my radio off the Boston Police, the Mayor of Boston, the FBI, the FDA and the President of the United States of America openly stated that the cause of the explosions at that time were unknown. I asked if it had been confirmed that they were bombs because I did not know.
