Hello guys,
I am in need of some help / advice, Anyway I bought a smok zmax mini after having a go with one at the last Yorkshire vape meet , anyway it turned up after a week from china and like a kid in a toy shop I unwrapped it and hooked up the battery and fitted my atty ,
Was buzzing at my new toy anyway it didn't work ???
I called a mate who has one and it was still not working as it should,
Anyway I managed to get the top off to find that the rubber grommet that sheaths the + terminal was damaged and part of it had fallen into the base leaving the top part partially under the terminal looking like a chewed up washer, So I wrapped electrical tape around the terminal as a quick fix to try it and all last night it worked fantastic,
I got up this morning and although it read ok on the display it had stopped working (bloody gremlins) Anyway I lifted the top of gently as had last night tilted the top to one side only to find that the + wire had fallen out and was in my hand???
Does anyone on here know how to repair this for me? Really am devastated as these things aren't cheap,
The thing the guts me is that they are a quality piece of kit Only let down by silly things like crap wire and grommets,
Anyway I'm off to find a hammer I'm that hacked off lol (Joking)
Many thanks in advance
Jeff

I wish I knew a bit more about these, sounds like the wire has either broken off or overheated and de soldered itself. If you dont get it fixed, I`ll have a go at it for you, I`m pretty handy with these things. It`ll cost you postage both ways (no joke these days) Offer is there mate, see how you get on, loads of helpful people here

I have no idea if this is the scenario in your case - BUt......... One of the most popular problems with batteries is caused by over tightening when fitting a device. The silicon rubber seal they normally put under centre posts is very soft and can easily be damaged by being squeezed too tight. If this happens then the centre pin shorts out and can cause other damage within the device. Fit atomizers, or other devises, with your finger tips, when you feel it touch down on the connector then stop! So many people like the flush fitting look, which is a nice clean look to go for, but if there is a gap either accept it, or be prepared for some re engineering to perfect the fit. Please all, be gentle with your screw fits, they will love you for it

All done and up and running hehe, bumped into a mate who repairs pc's and mentioned it to him he said pop it round and I will take a look, Anyway I had received my shrink wrap and O rings from steath vape do we fitted them he traced the solder point, Cleaned off the old solder and bits of wire and re attached the wire, I popped it all back together fitted the battery and it works a treat, Just need to find out what glue I need to secure the top properly as it can be popped of with an atty fitted,
Just like to thank everyone offering help and advice it's much appreciated,
Jeff
