Is there no way you can short it back the other way ?? ...lol
I say this because my wifes dilema is intriguing. She took off the fully working 301 atty to try the joye 510 atty. The joye 510 atty worked really well. After a few hours she thought she'd put the 301 atty back on (as the carts that fit it are a bit bigger). Her 301 atty wont work now. Her 301 atty still works fine on my spare battery but wont now work on her joye 510 infected battery. Weird or what ?

These don't get hot roacher. These work brilliantly. Thats what makes me think it's something to do with polarity. And how come the charger is registering ....green...fully charged. When in fact it is empty. Can see what i'm saying ? Sounds like the battery has become fully discharged, or has suffered a breakdown of the dielectric membrane - possibly from being asked for too high a current. From either of those, there's no way back. Alternatively, it's also possible that the centre pole connector on the battery has been forced too far down and is not now making contact with either the charger centre pole of the 306's - this does sometimes happen. You can pry the centre pole up a tad with a toothpick - not too much! - and it may then make contact.

Thats good roocher, you want to try that on some of your other dead'uns. I'm wondering if the Joye atties i've been using are low resistance or something. The battery i killed had worked with the joye atty for 2 whole days without recharging....then wouldn't recharge when it did run out. Now....my wifes xp900 battery will work with a 301 to 510 adapter and the joye 510 atty. But wont now work with the xp900 301 atty ?????......WTF is going on there Her battery is still working but will not recharge (i tried it just to see) the charger light doesn't go red. Just straight to green. I've stopped her using the joye atty now so her battery still has life but wont register on the charger.

sounds like it's either no making contact or the charger may be at fault.

rivereast had this problem with one of his ego batteries, the problem being is atomizers have no quality control so some of the threads are longer than others which as dave says pushes the centre of the battery connecter down over so no live connection can be made. with rivers 510 battery is was a matter of taking of the sleeve of the battery and looking up past the small circuit board to see were the wire connects to the centre of the battery connecter inside and using something long and thin to push the centre of the battery connecter back into its rightfull place. i always try to tell people to try and not to overtighten their atomizers onto any battery connecter for this reason. i did actually do this to my own SD sometime ago and it took me ages to figure it being a bit green when i first started and i ended up having to put a small ammount of solder in the middle of it as it was immposible to take the connector out.

I think HIFISTUD is right. I say that because when i screwed the adapters on i had to screw them on quite hard to make them tighten right down. So i'll bet i have moved the connector down into the battery. It only has to be moved a couple of millimetres and the charger contact will no longer reach it. So it doesn't register to the charger that anything is there to charge. Cos the the battery contact has been pushed down to far by my adapter. Hence why my wifes works withe adapter on and not with her original atty that came with that battery.
The thing is now. How do i pull the battery contact back up to where it should be. Or could i use something to bridge the gap between the charger and the battery ????

Hifi......spot on. You're the man. It's worked. I now have two batteries (presumed dead) charging.
Thank you for answering the call. Mucho appreciato.
