Do new vendors actually research prices ?

Some of the new vendors prices for e-liquid are, quite frankly, appalling. It seems they have joined the forum JUST for the 'free advertising'.

If you are running a '50% off sale', it would make sense to ensure your price is less than a competitors 'normal price' for the same product.

Just an observation...

I was reading this yesterday from a local marketing agency here. OK, it's a different industry, but some very interesting points are made about using social media to promote your business. First and foremost, engage with and give back to your target market and do it properly, which includes taking and acting on criticism...

I think there are also some other exemplary new vendors about who have done just that!

Some are very overpriced to start off with they must think we are stupid
Trouble is , what IS the retail price on liquid ? We just need to support the good ones & the bad will disappear

Agreed Jen. We have some exemplary vendors who used to be members, so know what is a good price and what 'we' expect. However, there is a growing trend all over the web of joining fan-sites and flooding them with adverts.

At the start of my 'vaping journey' I joined a couple of sites, here and UKV, for advice and information. It wasn't until after I had made my first couple of purchases that I saw the discounts thread as prior to that I was searching specific questions through Google and coming straight to the forum threads.

I have a big sense of community, hate to see people being taken advantage of, and enjoy helping people in 'need'. I come from a fairly small family so have always placed a high value on friendships and trust.

I think that sometimes. A few weeks back a saw a new vendor charging £110 for an SS vamo. Seriously?!?! Market research people. When they were called on it they said they felt it was in line with other vendors prices. God knows what vendors they'd been looking at.

yes - $15.
Second day I had my did clone thingy atomiser the stupidly thin tank split, the base cap was far to large a diameter - sent them a pic showing dimensions on a vernier caliper and they refunded promptly and gave me a credit/gift certificate. Best not tell them I made a new tank out of a 15mm internal diameter (10ml) syringe body. Works well but do not like the reduced flavour from an SS wick.

I don't think some of the new one's do check other sellers prices Moggy

When we check them for vendor status we don't advise them on their prices, that's for them to find out themselves when they start to offer their wares on here. In time they will wake up I imagine, if they don't then they will fizzle away. There are sooooo many vendors out there now that it doesn't really matter if they charge silly money because people will simply avoid them anyway.

I think a lot of people are jumping in now with online shops with the growth of the E cig market, some of them are incredibly naive though, we`ve seen a few of them here

Market forces will quickly sort the wheat from the chaff. Those of us who use forums are acutely aware of current prices AND the level of customer support we expect. I applaud anyone trying to start a new business in this economic climate but they must appreciate the customer base they are targetting otherwise they will wither very quickly.

I really dont think they actually stock everything with a site that size. Maybe they order it as and when they need it and then have to wait for delivery, sorry @simate, had to correct your spelling as well
