Thanks robby Not really sure what I was thinking when I got them... I need to get something for a Natural I've got coming, think I just saw protected and clicked buy! I'm fairly sure a telescoping mechanical mod will be on a future shopping list so all I need to do is remember where I put 'em.

110 lumens is pretty low dave just for comparison a normal 50w GU10 (240v) Halogen lamp gives out >600 lumens This LED lamp HERE is more like a replacement in light output terms. And the best IMO are the Phillips one's like THISAlso be aware that many LED replacement lamps are VERY narrow beam you need at least 25 degree, not 15 like many are. The one from Fasttech is more for "mood lighting" rather than "task lighting". The remote control one is just a possibility for a bit of outside lighting I am thinking about as a fun project. For the kitchen lights I'm thinking of trying one of these: www.fasttech.com/products/1196601The only reasonably powerful one I could find with the right dimensions. I'm just going to get one to try it - if it's no good I can always use it for a cupboard light or something. I realise I will probably have to bite the bullet and eventually get good quality ones like you have linked to, but just thought I would have a punt on a cheapy and see how it performs.

Hi all, sorry for my lack of replies on the nova subject, I am at work at present so will post some answers later, the only things I can tell you at present are that there are no holes in the threads on either of them, the centre posts on both are fixed not spring loaded, and do sit proud like the spring loaded ones. One of the posts is bent anyway, so I will be sending photos of that to FT anyhow. Tried sticking a pin into the 'air hole' in the base, nothing changed. Covered the bottom of the post and no airflow whatsoever. The two I ordered are www.fasttech.com/products/1319601 and www.fasttech.com/products/1319600

Well, my 2 novas arrived today, and I must say I am completely disappointed! They are totally unusable, due to the only airway in being on the very bottom of the post, which to be working has to be on top of the battery, this means there is zero draw on them (unless they aren't connected to a battery lol)! I'll contact ft after work later, win some lose some I know you shouldn't have to but can you cut a slot in the bottom of the center pin ? this is how some are that have airflow through the center.

That center post sticking out so far is going to cause mod issues regarding the center pin.

Yep that center pin spells headaches robby will work out how to make it spring loaded. Otherwise, it sound's like 'out with the dremel'! Yay - my first homebrew mod

Hmm - not good news, as I have a mate with a couple of Novas en route as we speak. In the same vein, has anyone had experiences good or bad with their DCTs? I have a tank coming in the same order. Andy

I am using 3.5ml nova from FT and this one has one hole. Sometimes the draw is tight but most of the time its o.k. Used it for about 3 days now and I would say this one is good value for money. I am disappointed with 2 of the ce4 6 pack but the other 4 were good. ohms readings are 2.5 ohms (may not be accurate due to thread on vamo being screwed up as me). Blowtorch is great value and adapter is what it is.
My overall opinion is that I would buy from FT again.

I`m expecting 2 novas tomorrow, one a 2.5ml. They were part of an order that they decided to split for some reason, but shipped on the same day.
