Tickly cough after 1 month vaping

Could anyone tell me if it is normal to get a tickly cough and continual throat clearing after around 1 month on No Smellys and just vaping or is it maybe my mix is wrong ?? I use 18mg tobacco gold TW mix.

It's probably a side effect of stopping smoking. If it becomes troublesome consult your GP

Cured !!!! I did my own mix using the " e juice me up " calculator and found mixing VG thinned with 20% vodka and then mixing 60 PG / 40 VG at 18mg Nic and 20%Tobacco Gold flavouring and all went well in no time at all. Maybe a coincidence but all is fine and I am sticking with it !!

I get it very occasionally as I am drifting off to sleep but only if I have vaped certain juices for some reason.

While you have been smoking, you burn the tiny little hairs on your throat, when you stop smoking cigs, they start to grow back, hence the tickly cough, was told this by my mate who works in nhs stop smoking clinic, he's on the vapour trail too!

After 3 months vaping I seem to be getting a lot of phlegm, and I mean a LOT. Could this mean I need to alter the PG/VG mix in my juice I wonder. If anybody else has suffered something similar I'd be interested to hear how you got round this problem.

My only side affect so far is hunger, I finish a meal and i'm hungry again 5 minutes later! It feels like i'm pregnant again, i'm sooo not but that's the last time I had an appetite like this.

Well I get these coughs and throat clearing too and feel hungry rather a lot, but as I am definitely not pregnant, it must be the mixes. Basically I vape 50/50 so maybe it is time to change over to 70/30 and see how that goes.

Hi Lobeydosser, so you are switching to 70/30, is that PG70/ VG/30? The reason I ask is I've been using 70/30 PG/VG mix until recently when I ordered some 60/40 PG/VG, and I seem to have developed my phlegm problem since then. I'm assuming it may be the extra VG thats causing it.

Hi Davess, It is only since I switched 100% to the 50/50 mixes that I have had the constant throat clearing and it is only now, in hindsight and reading this topic, that I have realised that.

I started out with 70pg/30vg mixes and did not have this problem then, so perhaps it is time to give that mix a trial again.

The reason I went 50/50 was because I wanted more vapour, but that is not so important now. Also I get a helluva dry mouth with the 50/50 despite drinking loads of water.

Yes I seemed to be okay on a 70/30 mix, trouble is I've now got about 70ml of 60/40 juice, but hopefully I can add a bit of PG to weaken the VG content. Worth a try anyway. As I'm not into mixing my own juice however, I'd be grateful if somebody could tell me how much PG I need to add to a 20ml bottle of 60/40 PG/VG mix to weaken the VG content

I had that permanent hungry feeling a few days ago. Since then I have tried to drink more and I have not been so hungry since. It may be just a coincidence as I have just started to vape though so I'm not sure.

Vaping can make you dehydrated and our bodies can mistake thirst for hunger!

Hi folks, its nice to hear that other people have similar issues and I think that every comment has its own merit. IMO I think it is probably trail and error until you find your personal best mix. 60%PG and 40%VG(cut with 20% vodka) just works for me. 20% tobacco flavouring TW tobacco gold.
