I think I saw a post on here about an instant water heater/kettle coming to Aldi so I got one this morning. I have the problem of shineyitis in the kitchen as well as in the vape room. I have for some time had the type of kettle whereby I can just press the button and it dispenses 1 cup of water. Great idea cos I don't have to boil a whole kettle full of water. I then purchased a bigger and better one that did the same thing but had a bigger water tank which meant more time between filling. Now these are ok if you want just one cup but of course you have to press the button again if you want more! The problem is that if you want a set measure of water that is less than or more than a cup.....not so easy. So my new "water heater" from Aldi allows me to press a switch and within 5 seconds, it is dispensing hot not boiling water from the spout in a smallish stream but I can fill a large mug from start to full in about 25 seconds. Water for both tea and cafetiere coffee are hot enough to brew. 3 Year guarantee and cost £29.99 www.aldi.co.uk/uk/html/offers/special_buys3_30248.htm in black or white. Now did i tell you about the problems we have been having with pebbles on our beach? well the other da zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

My mate had something like this built in to her new kitchen (and she's far from being a millionaire) - it dispenses either chilled or boiling water at the touch of a button, and means she doesn't actually need a kettle. I love it, but my kitchen is a primitive thing, without even a sink, so it's not going to appear in my house any time soon. This Aldi thingie might be a feasible alternative - if our local Aldi has them, of course, and if it's not too heavy to transport back to Ireland. I'll go have a look tomorrow if I can find out where Aldi is! Thanks for the heads-up!

That looks nicer than the one I got from Aldi a couple of years ago!
I do like mine though, as do the other members of the household who thought at first that it was a silly purchase!

I had looked at built in versions of instant water heaters but they tend to be £1000 plus and they are always on, so using power to keep the water hot all the time. I have also seen reviews of the built in ones and due to the pressure caused by keeping the water at just below boiling point can make them drip after a while when the seals get a little worn.

After a while it just didnt heat the water enough so we threw it away. It has put me off having another one, but maybe it got damaged in trnsit from Oz to London.

They really are fab if you have any type of arthritis problems in your hands/wrists. Very handy and energy saving too! I hate being anywhere now that I have to wait on a kettle boiling! If mine breaks down I will definitely replace it. It's been going well for 2 years now so I feel as though I've had my moneys worth already

Do they heat up the water enough for the brew to be hot? don't want a lukewarm cuppa that you have to drink straight away or it'l be cold in 5 mins.

Cheer's greigster, will see if I can get hold of one then, people in this house only know how to fill the kettle up, as opposed to putting two cup's worth in
