I don't fully understand the pressure-equalisation thing with the Dream, but what I'm getting at is this: if the atty is left in the horizontal position, will the juice pass in through the lower hole, expelling air from the upper one, and flood the atomiser chamber?

There isn't really enough liquid inside a dream to create the pressure required to force it inside the chamber bell mate, the liquid that's already inside will rest in the bells side and well below the funnel to the drip tip.
The pressure really comes when the dream is stood upright and the weight of the liquid forces it in. When you stand a dream upright after an extended period of having been horizontal then you may find that there is a little more liquid inside than normal which could cause a little minor flooding until pressure equalizes again. This is due to liquid being forced inside to replace the liquid that's still trickling down the bells inner side wall, when that liquid reaches the base of the chamber it finds that the well is already full.

There is a lot of positive pressure inside the dream which will piss out the hole taking juice with it, if left on it's side like the picture with one of the cut outs exposed, if the channels do not have wicks in them..
If the channels have wicks, it'll probably be enough to prevent the air from bleeding out that quickly..It also depends on how full it is because as you vape, air pressure gets more and more equalized till towards the end, it's relying totally on capillary effect of the wick to carry juice to the coil..

That's exactly what I thought would happen too macca but I don't bother with wick in the grooves and lay mine down on a regular basis.

Must admit, I just bought a back up Dream from greigster, which he had wicked & coiled....He did it with the wick tripled over in a 'z' shape & then coiled without the wicks running down the channels.....I haven't tried it yet, but he reckons it vapes brilliantly.

I don't put the wick into the channels, just feed them around the bottom of the bell chamber
