Hi, if I have bought a high nicotine content, but it is not quite right for me, is it possible it can be diluted in any way?

yes, by mixing it with a lower concentration would be the easiest way to do it.. e.g. 3ml of 24mg mixed with 6ml of 18mg would result in 9ml of ((3x24)+(6x18))/9 = 20mg strength... adjust to suit the liquids you're using

You could also add some plain VG to it, but that would dilute the flavour slightly as well as lowering the nic content

Has anyone tried adding food extracts like Vanilla or Peppermint to the mix?

Very few supermarket bought flavours are suitable for vaping as they contain oil which will burn on your coil & maybe other nasties which are fine to be eaten, but not inhaled into the lungs. Having said that I know that Dr Oetker's peppermint has been used for mixing, but don't know if there is an over the counter vanilla you could try, I'm sure someone with a bit more mixing experience will be along soon.

4madcats is right, you do have to be very careful about the type of flavourings you use.

Thank you charon. One more question re the CCW flavours........can these be considered an alternative to what are called "concentrated" e liquids for DIY mixing? So you just need a few drops in to non flavoured Nic base and some PG and VG? I want to do a bit of mixing, but find all the info on the mixing thread a bit complicated to work out. I cannot work out the recipes on the chart system at all - it's a brain thing with me!! If anyone could translate a recipe or two into "drops" rather than percentages etc. I may be able to get my head around it. Think it's something to do with being 70 years old!

emmita the easiest way to mix would be to buy some VPG nic base from here www.ltecigs.larsentilbrook.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=61_84The bottom 3 are all VPG, just pick the strength nearest to what you are used to, buy a 10ml (or larger) syringe here www.ltecigs.larsentilbrook.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=63_73Any of the bottom 3 again. To make a 10ml bottle measure out 9ml of VPG nic base & 1ml or 30 drops of concentrate put in to an empty bottle put dropper & lid on & shake bottle, thats it mixing done. if its not strong enough flavour wise just add 4 or 5 drops of flavouring at a time as the concentrates are very strong, until you get the desired flavour. The above takes the faffing out of mixing as all you will need to add is flavour concentrate & you can get those too on the same website here www.ltecigs.larsentilbrook.co.uk/index.php?route=product/category&path=64_79To count out drops of the nic base & mix that way would be too messy for you & you would probably end up losing count of the drops. Edit: you may find it easier to put the nic base in a small plastic cup or something to draw it up the syringe, it is far easier then putting a syringe bung in the bottle & drawing it out that way, i am far too clumsy & end up knocking things over as i take the bung out of the bottle. Good luck

emmita i have just re read your post & i'm not sure if someone on the forum said the CCW flavours are a bit weaker than for e.g the ones i have linked you to. Also an easy way to work out the recipes for mixing: Count how many drops of flavour = 1ml by dropping the flavour in to a syringe, then if a recipe asks for 10% flavour this is 10% of a 10ml bottle so it would = 1ml or what ever amount of drops you counted into the syringe to = 1ml. Keep a small writing pad & write down your mixes in how you mix, if you add more (or less) flavour write it on the page you have wrote the mix on so you know for next time.

Fantastic, thank you. That seems to simplify it a lot. I just can't seem to take on board too many facts and figures any more (due to age!) but you have been very concise. Can't wait to get mixing and saving money too in addition to giving up the old stinkies!

chykensa has added an ejuicemeup recipe card with each of the recipes Download ejuicemeup. Download the recipe. Load the recipe into ejuicemeup & it will tell you all the %, ml, drops for the recipe. Drops are not as accurate as ml, as droppers and liquids are different.

You are welcome emmita i always mix by drops & find it easier than with syringes & i'm not too bothered about being precise with the mixes, plus as i said i am too clumsy to mix with the syringe. Where i mix on the table i use a double piece of kitchen roll & i put all my bottles at the right hand side & as i use each one i put the lid straight back on & then move it to the left side, then i'm not getting confused as to what has & hasn't been added, plus if i knock a bottle over it does not matter as the lid is on so no spills to mop up. Let us know how you get on with it, mixing your own juices is so much better as you can tweak them to your own preferences & you save money too. p.s. fred i use all the same bottles with same size dropper for mixing.
