Help with xbox

Can anyone help? Just bought a second hand xbox for my grandson to play when he comes round. Everything works ok but he wants to go online and apparently I need another cable? Can someone tell what to get and cheapest place to buy one...I just know someone on here will have the answer...many thanks

You need to plug your xbox into your router, presuming you have one.

And unless your router is in your lounge, then that's not going to be easy. You need a cat5e patch lead of the required length. They are normally sold very cheaply on ebay.

I don't have either, but this item is for an Xbox 360.

padiho, is it an Xbox or an Xbox 360 you have bought? Not sure if that would even work with an Xbox.

As far as i know you just need Xbox live subscription and a RJ45 cable going from your Xbox-360 too your router.

Yes it is an xbox 360. Trouble is its upstairs in his bedroom and the router is in the kitchen, so presumably I need something wifi? Sorry don't know much about this sort of thing, don't fancy paying £50 though!!

You plug your router that is in the Kitchen into one of the boxes and that sends a internet signal through all your electricity wires, the other box you just plug it into any plug socket around the house and plug your device into the box, i.e p.c / xbox etc etc

I had no trouble saying no to my children, for some reason it's different with the Grandchildren!!! Well have this discussion again Womble when you are a Grandad.!!
