Protank still tasting burnt

Ok so i'm still getting a burnt taste and smell with the protank, and it's really harsh on my throat, i've tried soaking the heads in denture solution overnight, and it doesn't seem to make any difference, the coiled wick is black on one and almost clear on the other. any ideas? i haven't got anything else to vape, have some more heads on order but they probably won't be here til wednesday

Have you got a pic of the coil and wick danny?

Have you tried dry burning it?

i will take a picture, i have tried dry burning it but i thought i cause the blackness by doing that

That might be the case mate im afraid. Could you see the coil when you dry burned it? If you burn the wick badly it is very hard to get rid of the burnt taste.

do you mean could i see the coil before i dry burned? i can't remember to be honest, i do know i only dry burned one of them

The one on the left looks ok, do they both taste burnt?

What battery are you running them on?

No you need to be able to see the coil as you dry burn it.

Is it me or do them wicks look strangled? If they are they won't wick well which will result in a burnt taste.

yeah they both taste burnt, i basically just dry burned it until it glowed and then stopped. that's when i started getting the burnt taste. all i can think of is only one of them tastes burnt and my brain is expecting the other one to taste the same so it does, or something

Bit of both, they looked a bit strangled in the middle and looked arched like they have been pulled down too much.

It says Evod but they are the same bases apart from the center tube on the Kanger is longer.

can i just say i dont think you have burnt them enough because you are scared to pop them
the silica will not burn its some thing well over a 1000 deg get the coil red get it glowing keep pressing your fire button i start mine at 3.0 v if it pops your no worse off
keep blowing on them and eventual it will clean up all smoking will stop and no hissing noise
the black turns to dust

if you zoom in on your pic the one on the left is better than the one on the right

Did you re-wick them? they don't look like manufactured ones for some strange reason, and the one on the right looks like it's been dry burnt to hell.
