Hi all

I need some help and advise
I have just bought one of these:
Empire K100 Mechanical mod

Is it best to use protected batteries?
Or can a use un protected with a fuse?

I have heard reviewers saying to use a '2 cent' fuse with them, what is that and where do i get one from?

Also what is this I hear from reviewers about a 'Kick'
What is that and do I need one?n From where?

Could I use these batteries?

A last thing is I want to use my iClear 30 on it, will 2ohm head be ok?

Saw that at the bottom of the listing on Zainy. Not really sure what it is, I think it is a fused chip, so safer than not using one.

Yes, batteries could get beyond recharge without some protection.

Yes again. But looks like they supply a chipped insert from the quote above.

Yes, an AW battery, should be fine, protected.

5 Iclears will be okay as well.

Kick will give you a consistent voltage (adjustable) from a mod with no VV or VW. Not cheap though.

Just got it, this is in the 18350 mode






Too small for my big hands so i am now using it in the 18650 mode....

I've ordered a copper coloured K100 kit from Fasttech but it doesn't come with the protection chip. Are these available to buy on their own anywhere, I've had a quick look but can't find one?

I am awaiting my K100-101 to arrive and would like to know if I need to buy a safety fuse to use in it.

I have 4x Panasonic (green type) & 4x Panasonic (grey type) unprotected 18650's as well as 2x 18350 imr Efest's.

Which of these require the use of a fuse and where do I get one?

I have seen one at Vape escape for £3 but not sure if it reusable?
