HI all, i'm new here and need a bit of advice,i gave up the smoke for vape 10 days ago after buying a ego starter kit ce4 version 3 which has a 1100 mar battery but instead of a wick in the clearomizer it has a tube that has two holes on each side. now my question is,is this setup better or worse than the wick system. i ask this because the wife has decided she would like one as mine is always in her hand and i'm sick of asking her if i can have a puff ' thanks

Ah you have the ce8 i think it is with the steel mesh wick inside the inner tube. A few peeps on here got them so hopefully they will be able to help. I have not tried one.
Silica wick is doing well for me though.

Hi & welcome, Hoddle. I haven't tried the clearo you're using, so can't compare, but I do use the ones with wicks with no problem.

Hello and welcome. I'm not familiar with that kit either but if you are both enjoying it and its keeping you of the fags, it's gotta be a good one. If it ain't broke don't fix it kinda thing. You could always pick up a single wick clearo to try on your assisting device and see if you and your partner prefer that and then pick up another kit once you've decided?

hoddle10If you only have the one clearo that you mentioned, you DEFINITELY need another - what happens if it breaks or something? No experience of that clearo, but can recommend the kanger EVOD. I would suggest that you get something that is rebuildable along with some spare heads/wick and wire. That will work out cheaper in the long run. I have (as have several others) recently ordered a vivi-nova from fasttech for just over £3. The jury is still out on whether the fasttech ones are any good, but the genuine ones are, apparently. Good luck to you and Mrs hoddle

Welcome Hoddle. Even I can't help you. DJS "Mr clearo" has not been tempted by the voodoo of the CE8 clearo. I guess if it works, it works. I've been dead set on them, except even the vendors (well, one of them) threw their toys out the pram when constantly pushed to reveal the possible drawbacks of the hybrid SS CE! Maybe you could put us all (well, me anyway ) in the picture. The "theory" is good, but how is it in practice?

There is 2 versions of the 'wickless clearo' Theres one which is basically a dct atty inside a ce4 and the other is the ss mesh one the ce8 A shop in bradford sells the very old version dct style ones but ive got 2 of the ce8s although I haven't used them yet since I have bought them for my honeymoon.
The difference I have seen from the reviews is, the new ss mesh ones take forever to wick and 1 review said they lack flavour. The ones with wicks are good because you can recoil them whereas the ce8 you need to buy a new insert every time they get passed dry burn cleaning although, they should last longer than the wicked ones in the long run.
