That was just one particular brand, a few members on here pulled apart some used cartos and didnt see much of what was found in that study.
All we found were burnt bits. I hope that clears it up.

If I remember other scientists with brains have already pointed out to the researchers the giant mistakes in their methodology and basically pointed and laughed at them. Try looking over at the clive bates blog, or Dr Farasalinos on facebook as I think it is one of our stalwart expert supporters that did the point and laugh.

Thanks to all for your responses. If anyone's interested (and for posterity) the rebuttal is here: tobaccoanalysis.blogspot.ca/2013/04/metals-in-electronic-cigarette-vapor.htmlIn essence, the amounts of "harmful" substances found in the vapour from these cartomisers is a very small percentage of the USP standards for the maximum allowable daily exposures for each of these metals from inhalation medicines. Lead, for example, at 200 puffs a day, would measure a total of 0.34 microgrammes, which is just under 7% of the maximum allowable exposure of 5.0 microgrammes. I rarely use cartomisers anyway (I find VNs better tasting, better value for money and easier to use), but am no longer at all concerned about using them.
