What is Chain Vaping?

This may sound daft but I dont think I know what chain vaping is. I have smoked all my life, the last 20 odd years I smoked a pipe with very strong "Black Cherry" tobacco. I used to light my pipe, take 2 or 3 draws and put it down for 10 minutes then light it again for another 2 or 3 draws.

I vape in the same way, just take 2 or 3 draws and pop it to one side for 5 to 10 minutes. I guess I only use about 1 1/2 to 2 ml. per day.............so back to my question, what is chain vaping?

My definition would be to not put your vaping device down whilst using it almost constantly. So I don't think you chain vape. During the day I tend to vape like you. On a night I tend to semi-chain vape. That should be the next question lol?

Definition of a chain vape. if your in a chain gang of vapers as you can see in the pic below. They are carrying E-pipes.





I do think That I am a chain vaper. I seem to be using about 6/7ml a day since dropping the nic to 15mg fron 24mg. I do worry whether I am using it to much and keep telling myself to leave it alone for a while but I don't listen to anyone including myself. I am vaping more than smoking in the context that I wouldn't pick up a ciggy for at least 30 minutes where I can with Ecigs. So I suppose the definition of a chain vaper would be a individuals assessment on whether he/she is over doing it.

So, is chain vaping where you constantly have your PV in your hand or is it the amount of times you take a draw? How many times in one minute or 5 minutes or even in one hour, do you take a draw. I can understand chain smoking when you light one cigarette straight after another.

My mate says he chain smokes at work, but in reality what he actually does is light a cigarette and put it down on his bench (he's an old school welder). This cigarette then tends to burn out and he lights another. So in essence he always has a lit fag, but I bet he only smokes 10% of it and I wouldn't call it chaining.

This can be said of vaping. Having your device constantly in your hand (lit), but not necessarily in your mouth isn't the strictest definition of a chain in my mind. I still think chaining is one pull after another after another (a link thus a chain).

Come on people, are we on our own trying to figure out what chain vaping is hahaha.

When I smoked I would have a fag about once an hour. This involved stopping whatever I was doing and going outside (even at home) for my smoke. Now my PV is always by my side and I use it for a few puffs every few minutes. So my nic intake has gone from 20 'peaks' a day to a more even distribution.

Am I chain vaping? I have no idea. Am I enjoying it more? You betcha.

Im using it about 150-200 times a day......only been vaping about a week.

Not sure if thats high....seems like it is!

I don't have a counter, but I used to smoke 20 a day. 7-10 puffs per ciggie would equal 150-200 per day, so it doesn't seem at all excessive

I vape in the same way you do Greigster for much the same reason, except I smoked little cigars for many years - they go out when you put them down, so one could last quite a few re-lights if I was doing something.
I did encounter a real chain smoker once - he put 3 packets of 20 on his desk each morning and smoked constantly lighting one from the stub of the previous one, so he got through the best part of 60 fags in a working day! I'd say chain vaping is similar - puffing away more or less continuously.

Wow, so im smoking the equivilant of one cig a day?! That cant be right surely....(although im hoping it is!)

I think i used to take more than 10 puffs per cig though, closer to 15-20 i reckon, and i was on day a day

hmmm im not sure but i think my oddy has rooted into my lips lol i chain vape when im sat down relaxing but when im busy my pv spends most of the day in my pocket

My Evic tells me that I am taking about 100 5-6 second draws per day but I tend to use 24-30mg nic. I suspect if I dropped my nic strength, I would take more draws.

What about the ladies here....do you take big draws

LOL I take big draws & I think I must chain vape, as I've just read that someone's wife charges their Spinner every couple of days & I seem to have to charge my two spinners every day. I mainly vape 8mg though & also some zero.

Haha yeah my oh spinner lasts her nearly 2 days but only because she cant vape at work and only gets 2 vape breaks a day. She soon makes up for it when she is home mind lol.
