In that case I think I may have made my first mistake I read the answer to pugs post somewhere last night which basically said to get my 18mg all you do is make the nic 25% of the total volume. The reply also said 2.5 mg of pg and vg so I added that amount of vg on top of the nic which is suspended in vg. Does that mean I have too much vg in it now?

No you are OK Dolly, If you want a 18mg 50/50 mix (final mix), you will use something like:- 2.5ml 72mg/ml VG Nic 2.5ml of PG 2.5ml of VG 2.5ml of flavourings (these are normally PG based) You can vary the PG and VG elements to change the ratios if you want. More PG = less smoke/vapour, more VG = more smoke / vapour. You can up or lower the flavourings to taste:- for example if you only use 20% flavour (2.0ml) you can up the PG to 3ml to compensate. Does that help?

Phewwww what a relief. Thanks Froggy. I do like a lot of flavour Does that help?

Cheers Karma, pretty simples really, now all i need is Frogsters Egg Custard recipe take one tart.... blind baked, mix up some eggs, custard, sprinkle on some grated nutmeg and bake in a med hot oven, till it looks about right..... Works for me! And, Yes if you want an 18mg final mix..... use 25% of the 72mg/ml Nicotine base (whatever size of mix you are doing, it always is 25% of the total volume). I can see this is going to be an expensive project that will probably never come to fruition but who knows i may discover a classic along the way lol

My Alchemists starter kit also arrived today and i've made my first juice as per Perps Vanilla Custard , though no sweetener yet as thats in the post. Could someone put my mind at rest and tell me i've done right using the 72mg base requiring an 18mg 50/50 10 ml mix i added 2.5ml Nic base, 2.5 PG, 2.5 VG and flavours for the rest ? Am i right in assuming that .again using the 72mg base if i'm looking for 18mg as a final outcome in any volume its always 25% of the mix If you've used Breakthru's calculator captainpugwash, you won't go wrong. ejuice.breaktru.com/Cheers Perps, my first mix is you're vanilla custard recipe and the sweetener arrived today so i'm good to go, was a little unsure on exactly which part of the plunger in the syringe i should be measuring with though if you know what i mean ? As in the top or the bottom part of the black bit. i started with the bottom part but had to much juice for the bottle so figured it was the top bit but have ended up with a small shortage in the bottle volume, presumably as it should be

First, it makes it easier to lift the plunger cos there is less of a vacuum and Second, when you hold the syringe upright, the air you took in first will then be above your fluid line which means you can see the juice level against the calibrated markings without the black rubber of the plunger being in the way

Greigster thank you for that tip. I had a hell of a time with my eyesight seeing the exact measurement.

And I do allow a little tweaking room in a bottle, so if you do end up a little short on a 10ml recipe of mine then it's sort of planned. Hope you enjoy the PVC, there's few VC recipes on our Collection thread which are also worth trying to find one that suits your tastes . . . just give them all plenty of time to steep.
