Might it have been better to have goldened up a better quality mod? Although it's easy to change the bits in a vamo I think.

Now it is a better quality, nearly all the issues in a vamo are caused by poor body connectivity, all sorted on this one.

Very true McLaren's used gold plate under the bonnet to transfer heat away, so I'm told anyway

Yes they did - well it was a gold foil - the resins in carbon fibre start to melt if they get too hot.
