Would anyone know if you can dry burn these without ruining them?

If it's a standard cartomiser (wadding in a metal tube) NO! - you cannot dry burn them, it will ruin them. Rinse under hot water then put in a cup with hot water and some bicarbonate of soda or a denture cleaning tablet (about 50p for a tube from Tesco's) soak for a few hours or overnight.

Mine are duel coil, does that matter? I did try an old one last night that i had opened the hole up to much in & it smoked a lot & smelt awful, not tried it yet.

I'm guessing you mean a dual coil cartomiser? Is it a metal tube with wadding in?

Then I refer to my earlier post, you cannot dry burn them.
Only option is to rinse and/or soak, jury's out for me with ultrasonic cleaners.

Rinse under hot water then put in a cup with hot water for a half hour. Then 3 times in Ultrasonic Cleaners, every time with fresh water.
