Request to Vendors Sub Forum? or whatever.......

Just a thought, what a category a sub forum where we can suggest all Vendors stock a certain product. I can think of 2 thing I wish UK vendors stocked that you can only get from overseas.

Couldn't it be done on the Shopping Board Des? I'm sure Vendors probably check that out as well to see what we're on the hunt for . . . plus we don't know what new goodies they all might have in the pipeline.

I also think we have to remember that it's not always economical for UK Vendors to import goods from the US with the astronomical shipping charges and duties they have to pay and it's sometimes cheaper for us to buy them on an individual basis.

Ps . . . just had a thought, maybe a Sticky on the Vendor's Board for ' Stock Requests ' Des?

As Perps says Chrissie maybe a "Sticky" or a sub forum whichever is easier.

We may need to do some initial "prodding" of the vendors so they know to check.

It's very easy for me to add a sub-board - just don't want too add to many though, if they aren't going to be used often. Mind you, I also don't like to see too many stickies on a board either I think in a way that for something like this, a sub-board to the vendors board would work best as sticky threads are often ignored

They can do in the vendors board & therefore could do so in a vendors sub-board

However, there is one pitfall I've thought of. Only vendors (& forum staff) can start threads on the vendors board. The permissions I set on a main board are carried over to sub-boards, so I'd have to see if I could find a way round that.

Maybe the vendors can start the threads Chrissie ? Say we wanted to get some extra products on our site, we could start a thread in the sub-forum asking for requests? Does that make sense or am I completely off the mark?

Just checked on my test forum & I can set separate permissions on sub-boards So if folks would find this useful, I'm happy to set up the sub-board.
