Some Indian organisation trying to get access to my computer by telling me there are corrupted files on my ISP (or something) slowing my internet down. Apparently they then try to get you to go to a website and download some software, which then allows them access to your files and PC/laptop.

Easiest way to get rid of this sort of thing is to tell 'em you run Linux - they don't have a clue! Or, y'know, swear at them and hang up, whichever suits

As an ex-telesales/marketing trainer - i turned to to the light side - what i usual do is simply answer with my phone number - then when they ask for whomever just state that they're not at their desk at the moment, can i take a message? You did realise that this is a business number, didn't you? - and they apologise, hang up, and probably mark the number as not worth ringing back - at least that's what i would have told them to do

I do this for ALL unsolicited calls (in fact always answer the phone with just me number) - and technically, as i'm self-employed, and usually take the calls at me Computer desk - it's true too

If thee are of no use to them - i.e. a business address - they will remove the number from their list - so no more unsolicited calls from them at least!

I had these people on landline this morning asking to speak to the computer owner, I asked what it was about & they said I had a problem with windows on the computer, I said I know this is a scam, don't ring again & put phone down!
Guess what landline has not rung again all day
