Recoiling a Kanger protank

Could any of you helpful people please point me in the direction of exactly what I'd need to recoil a Kanger protank? I'm still an absolute noob to vaping but having watched so many videos it looks really easy and also fun to recoil these heads. I like the vape which I'm getting from the Kanger as it came so what size wick and wire would I need to try and replicate that? The coil head on the protank I'm using is 2.5 ohms and I'd also like to ask what a lower or higher coil head ohm would do with regards to the vaping experience?

I was wondering if the wicks placed on top of the coil were a different diameter and this clears that up. Cheers.

I have amended the guide a bit, few discrepancies, nothing major though

Oh right, so the additional wicks on top of the coil are not full pieces of wick, just thinner strands?

Where is the best place to get the wire and wick from?

Also, how would the vape differ if the coil head ohm was lower? I keep reading how people want a lower ohm on their coils.

Lower ohms will give you more throat hit but will drain the battery faster, higher ohms give the opposite.

No matter what I do I can't get this to rewick without leaking. Tried with extra bits of wick. Without them. Tighter coil loser coil. Pulling the coil down tight. Not pulling it tight. Whatever I do there is always slight leaking at the bottom.

Given up and will be ordering some replacement heads in the week.

OK so I recently just finished recoiling my protank for the first time. I received my Ekowool today but I ordered 2mm instead of 3mm 

I got 1.5ohms with four wraps of 0.2 kanthal and I thought I was set to go. However, all I'm getting is a nasty burnt taste with a little flavour as an afterthought and almost zero throat hit. I've layed more and then even more strands on top of the coil but it's no better. Was I supposed to boil the Ekowool or something first? Should I just try again?
