Oh well, it must be me that does not suffer from soggy bum syndrome and like to have a nicely ironed pair of shorts to go on my nicely soggy free bum

Joking aside, i think the reason i do it is because it makes me feel complete after a bath/shower....nice and clean and a nicely ironed pair of shorts and socks, bit like when going out for the night, nothing better than all your clothes nicely ironed and your shorts and socks included.

If being mad means ironing my shorts and socks than so be it

I hate ironing with a passion.
I have been known however to iron bedsheets but that is only if I dried them in the dryer and they have the mad creases that nearly cut the skin.

If I had one of those industrial presses they use in hotels (and the space to put it), or a housekeeper, I'd happily iron bedsheets as they do look nicer ironed. But seriously, life's too short IMO

I iron if I'm dressmaking as it's important for measurements to have crease-free fabric. Other than that - only if I'm going out/formal. Most of my clothes are easy care

Well said Rosco, i am from a family of 9 & when i was a kid one my jobs was ironing for whole family ????so now i only iron what i have to e.g. jeans, best clothes for going out in, curtains oh & duvet sets, sheets etc but only 1st time i'm going to use them from new i wash & iron them then thats it never ironed again.
I never ever leave washing in machine after its finished its cycle, i take washing out & fold ut up, then after its dried outside i bring it in a few items at a time & fold again, nothing much needs ironing after that ????

When i say i iron my shorts and socks i don't get the iron board/iron just to do them i do them when i am ironing the rest of my clothes, now if i did just get the iron board/iron out just to iron shorts/socks then that would be weird, but 30 seconds for both items is not that bad is it?

Don't wear shoes or socks (unless required legally to do so or extreme weather conditions insist) - so nothing to iron there

Neither do i sport boxers - but if it makes thee happy - go for it!

Now .... this is going back a bit .... but ..... in my first marriage (which didn't last very long, and for good reasons) he thought I was very dedicated, because I ironed his undies ......


The truth is I got a real buzz out of putting it on full steam and hearing that wonderful sizzling noise as I pressed down onto the crotch. As therapy goes, it was pretty good actually
