That's still most reasonable Verey, don't under cook your prices as Chris says though . . . it's always easier to come down, than go up.

I wouldn't worry Perpy, I am a master of eBay bargain hunting and have sourced only the best quality cut price parts. I am going to make a profit on making them, but low profit since this is partly therapy/hobby for me not a business - but still enough to pay for my time, materials, postage and paypal fees. Quality of parts is important which is why I went for the slightly more expensive 3m cables for these, in the future I will do versions with 5m cables too when I have managed to beat the ebay vendor down on price with charm and persistence. Couldn't conceive anybody wanting a shorter cable though.

That's good to hear Verey . . . and I'm sure your charm will win through with the Ebay Vendor.

Also don't be caught out by Royal Mail, Verey. Anything over 25mm deep becomes a packet rather than large letter price.
You probably already know but, just thought I would mention it.

V, I think it looks good... But I think your pricing is insane! If you take out the cost of postage, I'll bet you're actually making a loss on each one. A very basic pricing strategy is to work on 1/3's. One third is materials, one third is time/expertise/effort/wear and tear on tools etc. and the final third is profit. When I do my mods, I don't really include time as I do it for fun but by my calculations, your materials cost around £1.66 (I seriously doubt that), your time is worth £1.66 and your profit is £1.66. If you take 10 minutes (I suspect longer) to make one from scratch, then your hourly time-only rate is £9.96 (without taking into account the other '1 third' factors such as sourcing time etc). I know this may not be popular, but I think your price is way too low. No-one here will begrudge you making a little spending money for good work! Sean

Know all about it, I help a friend with his ebay business where he is obsessive about the postage costs so all I need do is hand him a package and he can, 30 seconds later, tell me all the postage options. He is a very useful resource LOL.

If you underprice yourself they will probably become more of a chore than an enjoyable experience. I'm sure most people will appreciate that as well.

I am not going to make massive profits but will make profit.

Just don't sell yourself short buddy, like Jason says, chores are harder to complete than the fun stuff! People will appreciate your work and will be happy to pay reasonable prices for it. Good luck! Sean

I really appreciate the concern fellas, prices will vary upwards at some point - I'm not completely mad. I managed to get a small run of parts for next to nothing hence the initial low price.

I can only agree with all that's been said Verey, if you charged £9.95 inc P&P - they'd still be an extremely good buy. . . . especially as you may not be able to source parts at quite such a reasonable price again. Start off how you'd like to go on I would say. Edit, as I left out a word.

Crazy as it may be the first few will be at that price, call it a special "mates rate" or pre-launch offer if you will - and I will only definitely have five at this price because I have the sale price parts en-route.
Long term they will probably have a fixed price which is higher, funnily enough Perpetua I already had sights on the magic £9.99 or lower since that is a barrier cost most people have to think about before crossing.
I am slowly getting supply lines sorted for long term deals on components for all the stuff I will be making - and yes I have a fair few bits I have designed and sourced parts for and I am at the prototyping stage with (working out kinks). Some of the parts I have been able to source at 50-70% less than the vendors originally wanted to sell at because I can be quite ruthless in playing manufacturers against each other.
Partly the PT was an accidental build due to getting parts very cheap and I built one as an experiment to see how that touch button performs (my own is still running perfectly with no issues or tweaks) - since if it works fine in a PT then it will work in any of my mods without issue.
I have been doing research, design and sourcing in the time where most people would be sleeping since I only sleep about 20 hours a week currently and would much rather be filling all my dead time doing this and giving people enjoyment - all you normal people sleep, I have been soldering, reading, negotiating and drilling etc.
