Beautiful giles. Here are the pics of one of our babies. Bit blurred but were taken through the kitchen window.

I was brought up on a farm, my father was a farmer for over 40 years. We kept chickens and other assorted animals, mostly cows. My mother had a market garden for a while, she comes from a long line of gardeners. I worked in the countryside game for many years, even studied countryside management at uni. So when it comes to countryside matters, trust me I know a thing or 2.
Foxes are not vermin, they are a large UK predator and an integral part of the food chain. If you lose chickens or other animals to a fox, it's not the foxes fault, the fox is simply doing the instinctive thing. It's your fault for not protecting your animals correctly; if you are really concerned, get a bigger dog, you won't lose anything.

They are beautiful pics. Mum and dad are that gorgeous rich orange colour. So much nicer than the ugly scrawny urban foxes you see in the cities. For me they are a different breed.
I am with you mp. No one would dream of saying lets slaughter lions, tigers, or the common domestic cat because it is a natural predator. That is how they survive. The fact the moggie will be well fed yet catch mice and birds just confirms the natural hunting instinct. A fox does it to stay alive!!
