You'll be fine Mel . . . it's a learning curve for all of us with gear. I normally leave my carto's for about 15 minutes after filling a new one, just to give the wadding time to absorb the liquid before I use it. When you come to fill another.

Having started with a 'cig-alike' , I got used to filling cartos quite fast. The 'condom' method of filling works pretty well, and when feeling lazy I'd drop enough, slowly, until the spongy bit in the middle was soaked and just a teeny little amount would drip out onto the table. Clearomisers are my preferred way now though, the one that came with the Riva 1100 starter kit got me hooked

Well my clearo is up and running again thankfully, I think I will stick with those in future. Trying to sort it whilst drunk was not a good plan thanks again everyone
