Since starting mixing, the biggest thing I am having a problem with is deciding the ratios of flavours to mix together if it is more than just one concentrate. I got the menthol wildly wrong and ever since have been put off double or triple mixing flavours because in my mind I can't fathom or decide which of the flavour I should put more or less of. Obviously menthol, absinthe etc much smaller than the rest, but if its something like cherry pie and custard, or other multi mixes how do you work it out?

trial and error! base and custard at 10% then fruit 10%
i did a banana and custard and after 2 months steeping can smell both flavours. when first mixed it was only banana. i'm still figuring the ratios out but my total is 20%
i tend to up the fruit flavour a lot more than the base

Yes, I was thinking the same re more fruit than over the rest of it. I have found that I like my flavours at 25%. I guess I will have to suck it and see so to speak lol. Sometimes I sit here thinking what to and end up doing nothing as I talk myself out of it. Must try harder!!

12% base to about 8% fruit I generally go Dolly . . . but it really is down to trial, error and our own individual tastes. I do always taste a drop of any neat flavouring to give me an idea how potent it might be, it's not an accurate science and one I regretted doing on the Koolada . . . but it did stop me adding a great wodge to a mix.

Perpetua if I was making any sort of fruit pie and custard with it, what would be the base pie crust or the custard?

Depends whether you'd like a flavour to dominate or be a more subtle blend really Dolly . . . how about tweaking Rom's percentages for his Rhubarb & Custard recipe as a starting point? Maybe . . . Fruit - 8% Custard - 10% French Vanilla - 3% ( or forget this and put a little more pie in? ) Pie Crust - 5% You could always add a few drops of sweetener as well if you felt the mix needed it after a bit of steeping.

Will do Dollydrops . . . that's if I haven't thrown my laptop out the window as I'm having huge problems with it and my internet connection.

That's what I love about mixing your own, you really can have YOUR cake and vape it. I always spend a little time before a new mix imagining what the perfect version would taste like, infact I got so carried away thinking how nice sugary pastry is with custard my last Blueberry Pie with Custard was made without any Blueberry flavour. Air Pie with Custard is quite yummy by the way.

I guess air pie is kinda like a custard tart - just custard in a pie base. As others have said Dolly, one of the things about mixing is that it can be a creative process. Or you can follow pre-tested recipes. Or you can buy ready-made. The level of tinkering and tweaking is down to the individual mixer and their tastes. That's what makes it such fun and also what makes it so frustrating
