At last, verification of what I have always known within. The tablets doctors have put me on over the years re blood pressure (take 1 only to keep docs off my back) trying to force me to take Beta blocks, cholestrol etc. Once on I wld soon stop taking them. I KNEW my body did not need them. 3 months ago when doc wanted me to go on cholestrol again (8.8) I said 'oh that's good, used to be 12 years ago in the 80's.' Then I said "The pharmaceutical companies and me DO NOT go together, it is a money making racket." As the doc turned away, I saw a faint smile come on her face. At last she knows not to try anymore to get me to take anything else. She only asked if I still took the BP tab, I said yes, but did not say to keep her off my back. Tablets treat a symptom, not a cause. Doctors wld not take any notice of my Thermal Xray I had done, which shows WHY my blood gets high - too much fire in my body. Because the reading was done in USA the professor at Flinders just shut the file, did not read. Not interested in my health at all, only forcing beta blocks onto me which I did not take, so I never saw him again did I?
I am not one for natural tablets either. I don't get sick, colds, flus, viruses. I KNOW I don't need them. Marg

My ex-doctor (a Dutch guy who has now emigrated to OZ) was always surprised but fully supportive of my attitude towards BP. He hated having to treat symptoms rather than finding underlying causes - and let me try my way first

I think we all know that the Pharma companies exist to make money. They must do so, as they need to feed all those shareholders.
Curing people (or at least making them more comfortable) is a job which falls to doctors, nurses, clinicians, psychiatrists and so on - the people at the sharp end.
However, I don't subscribe to the view that there is any credible evidence that the companies choose to promote and maintain illness. This is indeed the stuff of conspiracy theories, and ranks only a peg or two below Chemtrails, Area 51 and Faked Moon Landings!

And the list of side-effects for Prozac is unbelievable.

Had a check around t'interweb and haven't found anything to dis-credit her claims - which was surprising to say the least

The group investigated more than 353,000 patient records from 639 separate clinical trials to assess the impact of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

They looked at high-dose prescriptions levels, rather than over-the-counter pain relief, of 150mg diclofenac or 2,400mg ibuprofen each day.

They showed that for every 1,000 people taking the drugs there would be three additional heart attacks, four more cases of heart failure and one death as well cases of stomach bleeding - every year as a result of taking the drugs.

So the number of heart attacks would increase from eight per 1,000 people per year normally, to 11 per 1,000 people per year with the drugs.

"Three per thousand per year sounds like it is quite a low risk, but the judgement has to be made by patients," said lead researcher Prof Colin Baigent.

These Risks would be acceptable to Big Pharma - as they have a special fund to take care of any court actions that may happen - out of the HUGE profits that they make at the patients expense - FFS!
