Grants vanilla custard is my daily go to vape. Some find it sickly but for me the smooth creaminess makes is really moreish Same, at first i didnt really like it, but once i went back to it, i loved it, its been my daily vape for the last week and i am now starting to get low, so will need to stock up very soon. @ bibpip, it tastes just like the tins of Ambrosia custard. And smells like the tins of birds custard powder. Yum

The lack of availability of GVC was the thing which finally pushed me into the mixology. Exactly the same here. I'd had a browse of the mixology boards and thought it might be something I would do one day but being unable to get any GVC (emailed and no reply from Grant) I decided to take the plunge and it's been much easier to get my head round than I thought it would be. I'm really enjoying my PVC by Perpetua - not quite the same as GVC but certainly good enough for my taste buds. I've made my own version with a few tweaks which is steeping as we speak. And I'm also really enjoying greendollar 's VCX and will be mixing some of that too, now that he's divulged the recipe thought I was going to have to beat it out of him

That's the beauty of mixing anything really, being able to tweak a recipe to suit your individual tastes. Oneday's VC is also well worth mixing . . . different again from mine and GD's, but very tasty and vapeable. Think I'll be having 3 variations of VC on the go in future now, never too much Custard in my llife.

Sorry if this is a silly question but Oneday's post about cost has got me thinking..
What is the rough cost of all of the getup needed to get started with mixing your own liquids?
I'm paying nigh on £12 for 30ml at present and it seems that there is a massive longterm saving to be had!!
Also, the recipes created by our fellow forum members.. Do any mixers sell samplers of their wares? Its particularly the custard I want to try.

Hi DC , Why not give it a try with a starter kit www.thealchemistscupboard.co.uk/product/mixing%20kit and have a look in the AAEC recipe section , if it's a custard recipe you're after then I'd recommend ....mine . Apart from the initial costs you could save yourself a fortune mixing your own and they will most probably be far better than the majority of shop bought liquids .

I echo GD's advice DC . . . it really isn't that difficult to mix your own liquid, there are loads of helpful mixers as well who will be only to willing to help you. If you follow tried and tested Member recipes whilst you find your mixing feet, then your chances of success greatly improve. Although for you and anyone else wondering, it isn't permitted for ' home brews ' to be sold on the forum if they aren't registered as a Vendor, if someone is kind enough to send you a sample, then that's a different matter. Have a go, it's a lovely cost effective extension to vaping.

DanI spent £40 (over 2 vendors) to buy all the bits and bobs to get me started on mixing. This included a few extra flavours over the vanilla custard ones so that I could try a few other recipes too.

Bookmarked! I want to get myself a vw device before i move into the realm of wizardry so will be a few weeks yet.. it's funny really.. the main reason for starting vaping was to save money.. i've spent more on vaping in three weeks than i spent on stinky sticks for a month! Theres always something else to buy too!!

I think the thing that perplexes me the most is how a lot of recipies call for say 200 drops of this, 62 drops of that.. how the heck do you keep track of every single drop?! And if you lose count?! Thanks for clearing it up about juices being sold. I still havnt really found my feet with flavours yet which is the other reason I want to hold off from getting into the mixing side of things.. only juices I really like so far are the Health-e-Vape "apple pie and custard" and "strawberry delight".. theres got to be more out there lol I think the 'savings' factor is a big one though.. i'm waiting on some wick and wire after working out the difference (which is MASSIVE!!) between bought coils and DIY.. its just the initial hit!!

Hi Karen How you getting on with it though? One thing I'm not looking forward to is having to wait for the first mix to steep to find out if you have it right.. I hate waiting two days for the postman and so a month to find out if I do indeed like a certain flavour (custard for example) would kill me!

Dan - the trick is to mix once a week (only takes me 15mins now!) and that way after 2 or 3 weeks you will have a batch ready to vape. That way a week or two slip by really quickly, and you know that your next batch is slowly but surely reaching vaping perfection! As far as cost is concerned, after the initial startup costs getting base, PG, VG, syringes, bottles, etc., I can now mix 30ml of VC for about £2.00 - a massive saving on buying commercially. Just now venturing into rewinding coils (with no success as of yet!), and I'm not sure what I can do to bring my general vaping costs down more. I reckon it's costing me about £10/mth after mixing and wire/wick supplies are factored in - can't really complain at that! Andy

Download a good online calculator like Breakthru's Ejuice me up Dan: ejuice.breaktru.com/Any large volumes measure with a syringe . . . small amounts of flavour I do by drops if they're under 30 ( 1ml ) . . . once you've got yourself set up with Supplies, it doesn't have to be a bank breaking pursuit. Although many of us seemed to have turned buying flavourings into an art form.

I can't get ejuicemeup but have been one on iPad called liquix, it's so easy I'm just using one or two flavours at the mo, but I am so happy with the results, it also tells me how much that particular juice cost me, it's usually about £1 per ten ml

I'm still confuse though, on numerous levels!!! 1. You've said that you consider 30 drops to be = 1ml liquid, yet Oneday's screenshot shows 20drops=1ml? 2. Apostle's recipe (just below Oneday's) says to use 3.52ml/105 drops of VG, 11.235ml/337 drops of Capella VC, and 1.875ml/56 drops of Vanilla.. How would you approach this? VG for instance; Would you syringe 3ml and work out the amount of drops needed to finish it? (In this instance 15 drops?) 3. In Oneday's recipe, at the top it says 100%PG, yet in the "resulting recipe" it states that you need 9.49ml/190 drops of VG to make up the 30ml recipe? Where does this VG come into the mix?
