I love it. Just thought I'd share. Having struggled with Vista ever since I bought my laptop, this operating system is a joy to use.

Only one thing perps.
Use the inbuilt tools in windows 7 to creat around 100 GB for drive C where you have ur os and use the remaining storage to create as many drives as you want and use only them. Forget the 100 gb in C and it would be good for a long time

I got in a muddle just installing EJMU on it! But thank you for the advice.

It makes a better system as we leave the 100 Gb for all the installables and the OS to live in its own sweet little world

I have a PC in the loft room (vaporium) which runs windows 7 on a solid state drive and then has 2 more drives. I have to say it is quite brilliant.

I have the same sort of setup DJ's. I have to admit that SSD's are the best bit of hardware i have ever bought to speed up my system, it's rapid at booting up and for tasks now.

I too have just been changed from Windows XP to Windows 7. This was done by my tame Mr PCman who looks after my PCs.
Yes, it has its good points, but it has a lot of down points too.
Too many menus on what was straight forward programs on XP. This dragging screens around the desktop business. Brilliant if you are doing multi picture artwork but a right pain in the bum if you are wanting to switch between one program and another.
And as for having multi libraries and the same documents in some but not all of them. What the hell is that all about?
Yes there are some improvements but change does not necessarily mean Better!!!

lobey - you don't have to use the libraries if you don't want to, just use the Documents folder, just Save As rather than use the default save locations

Well . . . I am now an all Windows 7 household. Lloyd the Scary has just dropped back my old Vista laptop with W7 now on it . . . it's like a new machine almost. Too think I've struggled for months with Vista and all it's inherent problems, I only wish I'd swapped sooner. W7 makes using the internet a pleasure, rather than a utterly frustrating cyber experience for me anyway. I don't know myself now! Best bit of technical expenditure I've done in a long time.

I agree with above it's much better to have a partition for your operating system and programs, if only for the reason you can re-install your system without losing your precious docs/pics etc, even better if you can install a second hard drive though. I've taken the dvd drive out of my laptop and installed a HDD caddy to hold a second drive, my first drive being an Intel SSD (a must imo for any computer) and the second drive a mechanical WD Black used just for storage and also a scratch disc for my graphics and video editing programs. I move the location of all libraries to the second drive and if set up right Win7 is an excellent system and my pc's and lappy run speedily and very happily.

My Laptop is now also windows 7 and I now have an extra hard drive in my desktop with Karen's Replicator on it and that backs up the main hard drive every day so that I should never again lose all my documents.
