The main problem with the Chinese genesis is the height/length of the wick is a bit too much for the hole size. Not even #500 mesh keeps up with the wicking needed to prevent the top coil from glowing. It's only a 2mm dia wick but it needs 42-45 mm wick length. The aga-s which is mostly similar in terms of wick sizeonly needs a 35 mm wick length. That's why the Aga-S performs very well whilst the DUD is a bit of a struggle.
Maybe you can try a 7 x 7 cable which wicks much faster with mesh around the cable where the coil goes.

RSSTs ... 1) flash heat the mesh to get rid of impurities (optional step) 2) roll 3) insert, coil and attach 4) pulse mod to oxidise the wick where coil touches 5) fill with juice 6) enjoy All right, all the recommendations for an RSST from thebestshop have me convinced. In the meantime the confounded device, unchanged from last night has just fired up and delivered me the most wonderful blast of banana and fruit I've ever tasted. I swear the thing has a mind of its own. In th emeantime I'll order up some silicone wick, some higher resistance wire and enlarge the filling hole. I have a box/chest/workshop of various plumbing bits so I might find some devilish combo of them to make the vaper from hell.

I've tried multiple setups (mesh on it's own with differing amount of oxidation and tightness, mesh with ekowool, rope on it's own, and finally the above) with my RSSTs since they turned up on Friday and this is the best by far!! Flavour like nothing I've ever tried, no burnt taste (even at 10w!), and plenty of vapour!! Already gone through 1 tank of apple pie and custard and its brilliant from start to finish!! Used 1/3 A4 sheet of mesh and about 1' of rope, but by god it's been worth it!! Tease-smiley

mini duds, lol the knurled nuts 2 of them are domed shape, make sure these 2 are at the bottom,so top 2 have flat surfaces to clamp the wire, also make sure that that the inner post is in tightly to, if you have the cheapy plastic tank version be careful you can crack it by over tightening it
Low ohms/volts with the vamo it doesnt like it nr 1.1 ohm,you probably find you done as all above get 2.0.1.9 even 2,7 after couple of puffs away up comes lo i get it a few times we all do so here are my tips tada works for me some will argue noo,its a case of trial an error which one works best for you
1.with cut piece of mesh burn it with your jet torch or gas torch[ never could do it on stove or with a lighter] hold it with pair of tweezers, make it glow orange,do BOTH sides, now roll it, and test it fits in the hole
2: now its rolled, get a safety pin, open it up and insert down the middle of the roll and now heat it orange again all over, now add a smear of juice and burn it again, when cooled pull it off, you will notice now your rolled coil has gone brittle feel
3 insert now with these duds make sure coil is going into the hole next to the allen bolt whole the other one is for filling furthest away, now when i clamp the wire ,i clamp it so it comes out near center post, now coil it i use 0.2 kanthal,on the last turn i put the wire behind the last coil and clamp it, you see these pics of purfect coils well mine never looked liked that ,mine sort of even spaced.now put on vam and test ohm,if your around 2 to 2.7 proceed to next step
4: drip few drops of juice on coil ,have vam set to 3v only, give it a couple of pulses so vape appears, test ohms again it will prob drop a bit,now fill tank[unless already filled],now give it a go gradually increasing the volts[ do not go for your desired setting straight away] after a few goes increase it, found out you may get it set to one coil etc works fine do it again you may have to go tad lower even for same juice
when you see these pic of coils done it looks like the coil etc is a good distance away from center post its probably in reality 1-3 mm away, with the dids duds i have i get same problem of no connection on my zmax, vamo fine, learnt i was screwing it down to hard, another tip if ohms do start to drop give coil a little twist and nudge it towards center post
