I like many of the features of my SVD, but I really can't get on with the telescopic tube! I don't like the edges on the bevelling, and will be giving it a bit of the dremel to try and soften it down a bit. But I thought I'd ask if anyone knows of any other tubes that are compatible with the SVD's diameter/threads? It'd also be good if I could find a base cap which fits on the SVD without the telescope - it would probably need to be a couple of centimeters to give room for the spring, but then you could have a mini-SVD for 18350 work! Am I crazy? It's jsut that my provari is so comfortable in the hand, the SVD really falls down against it in feel (well, obviously in price also!). Yes you are crazy santa668 crazy to compare the £150 plus provari to the £25 SVD. The provari might be more comfortable in the hand? But for looks? i know where my vote goes? The SVD is Light Sabre/Sonic Screwdriver Tastic Just use the SVD for a week, and the sharp edges on the bevelling will go I'm not massively feeling the SVD love I must confess santa668 . . . mainly because of the size and rough edges on the tube. But, it vapes very well and for the cost of the entire kitI I can live with that as a take to work Mod and not be too bothered.

Heh, couldn't wait a week for the rough edges to smooth out... Dremel'd! Now the bevels are reasonably smooth, don't catch on my fingers and can use as my take to work mod - awesome! Bit of discoloration from sanding the edges, I'll polish them out sometime, but for now I'm happy with my SVD again! I agree, for the price, the SVD is brilliant - tons of features, fairly decent looks, and I especially like that I can screw an evod in without an adapter. So... 8/10

I suppose there`ll always be a few that slip through that are dodgy, but what a pain it had to be that one Hopefully it`s not a glimpse of a larger widescale problem that hasn`t fully come to light yet.

Does anyone else's SVD get hot?
Mine gets quite warm in one spot, not unbearable, but noticeable.

Well, I contacted Fasttech support and raised a ticket, they got back to me pretty quick (less than 24hrs) and told me to ship it back & send a copy of the postage receipt and they will re-imburse me the postage cost, when they receive it they will either A. Send a replacement SVD or B. Credit my account. I think I'll choose B. get a credit and get myself a MVP, should be good with the Iclear 16's and as it has a Ego thread I'll be able to use Evods on it without an adapter and the dreaded gap.

Does anyone else's SVD get hot? Mine gets quite warm in one spot, not unbearable, but noticeable. Mine got hot (not from Fasttech). As time went on it got hotter & hotter to the point where it was starting to burn my fingers. I even dropped it once cuz the getting hot caught me out. It reached the point where I had to wrap a handkerchief around it to use it. At this point I sent it back for a replacement. FWIW my original (the 1 that got hot) had sharp edges, sharp flat buttons, & very rough threading on the telescopic tubes (which wouldnt go away with cleaning). Also it was covered in tiny scratches, & the silver screen was 'wearing out'. Over time the silver faded away as if it was being worn away, but the silver was inside. Flat buttons (Edit. 1st faulty SVD) Screen when it arrived (Edit 1st Faulty SVD) Same screen after 3 weeks (Edit 1st faulty SVD) Edit. New replacement SVD screen /Edit The new replacement is fine, silky smooth threads, no scratches, the silvered screen is perfect, & it now has rounded buttons Replacement SVD rounded buttons

It looks like a different version you got first. I was expecting the innokin mirrored screen, but this one I have here is just tinted plastic by the looks of it, and those hex head screen bolts seem different as well between your first and second unit. I noticed that the SVD is even longer than the Vamo in 18650 mode (!!!), taller by about the height of the Vamo`s top cap - it`s fine in 18350 size, but it`s just too long ! and they need to move those + and - buttons away from the fire button Build quality is very good though for the price...FT price that is, ie: what it should be and not the hideously inflated prices I`ve seen on some sites - it`s worth £30. Still a little worried about the durability of the spring loaded connector - time will tell on that one I think.

Edited my previous post for clarity & to add this photo Those 2 shots of the screen are both the same screen on the 1st 1 which was faulty. The replacement looks exactly the same (but with perfect silver) This pic is the new 1

Confusing even more - you have larger hex heads, I don`t on this one - and your screen seems to be recessed, mine isn`t, in fact it`s flush with the "frame" at it`s highest point.
So yours IS a mirrored screen ?
It seems not all are made exactly equally - maybe FT have different revisions in stock ?

What put me off ordering before FT even had them in stock wad the fact it was taller than the vamo. I'm glad I waited from a price point of view. Saved myself £40 but in the hand it looks so much better than in pics.
It's taller than the vamo but thinner and lighter. Totally different beast. It's basically my perfect mod. Yes I press a side button on occasion instead of the fire button but I can happily live with that.

I press the +\- buttons occasionally also but since I have it at a set wattage and locked it's not a problem, love the SVD and will be getting another couple.

I have noticed mine only gets hot in one place when the battery is getting low, so not much of an issue.
Have only managed to unlock it once though, so not sure if it is faulty. Don't really care it works and that's good enough for me.
