So I think I have woken up on the wrong side of the bed today because something is really annoying me this morning.
It's no wonder that people are wary of vapourisers when they carry 'Over 18's only' warnings. You could also argue why they are sometimes referred to as e-cigarettes?
I don’t think the manufacturers are doing anybody any favours on the whole. It’s misleading in my opinion.
What if I am vaping zero nicotine juice? How about herbs for therapeutic reasons? What about room vapourisers? Should your children not be allowed to be in the house when you use an ‘e-cigarette’ to fill your room with a lavender aroma? There are many uses for a vapouriser and yet this seems to be forgotten.
It’s vapour! Should kitchens carry warnings also? DANGER: Steam! Children should at all times wear gas masks during their Sunday lunch at ALL times?!?
I fully understand this stance if anything is sold with nicotine, but most aren’t.
Is it me and grumpy head or have I missed something?
I think I’m ranted out lol.

Start selling these to Kids then you are just giving government etc ammunition to try ban or heavily legislate them.

I totally agree that e-cigs are misnamed.
If I am vaping any flavour other than tobacco, why should I not be able to in some of the places where vaping has been banned. At present I am on a Tangerine Vape kick. Tangerines are not banned, so why should my chosen vape be?
I do understand the nicotine to over 18's only, but classing E-Cigs in the same category as Cigarettes is going to lead to hundreds of court cases further down the line.

Exactly lobeydosser, add steam to a fruit and in future you may be looking at a hefty fine!

I think its because the vast majority when ecig is mentioned picture the cig-a-likes and have never heard of Vamos etc & assume kids will start on these then graduate to real fags. The powers that be are losing lots of revenue, they say high tax is for health reasons but we are now finding out that they prefer revenue over our health. So we have to tread lightly as any excuse and they will pounce on e-cigs just to maintain the revenue from real tobacco products.

When you sit down and start working out the actual costs against savings by vaping instead of smoking, the loss in potential revenue to the government/tobacco companies is staggering.
I have invested £339 in Nic Base. If I keep to my present vaping levels, that will last me for 11 years. 11 years of smoking cigarettes at the level I was smoking before I changed to vaping, would have cost me £56,000.
Multiply that by the 10 million smokers/potential vapers and you get some idea why there are so many folks against the whole vaping movement.

It's a bit like selling roach pins, or other cannabis equipment - it may not contain any illegal drug, you may think the drug is harmless anyway, they may not be able to prosecute you for it, but you don't really want kids in the shop.
I think they'll ban the nicotine itself, unless sold as part of a medically-approved product. So you'll still be able to buy zero-nic juices.
A medically-approved product, incidentally, will be a over-priced, tasteless, unrefillable cig-alike. And I mean literally tasteless - "characterizing flavours" will be banned according to the EU directive. (No tax, as it happens - not even VAT on medical products.)
We need to stop this directive being implemented. Please write to your MEP and MP if you haven't already done so.
If we do succeed in stopping it, then nicotine may get taxed - after all it is an addictive drug. I don't think they will tax it though (apart from VAT), because it is so easy to smuggle. Governments (except in the 3rd world) have pretty much accepted that their income from taxing tobacco is going to go away, and they don't mind because non-smokers spend less time off sick, so the economy benefits when people give up smoking.
