Thanks for posting gibla53Looks to me like they've ducked it, which I think is good news for us.

I'm wading through it (103 pages) but so far haven't really seen much at all about ecigs. Phoenixflame (Julie) giles There is a huge amount to wade through but as you both say there is not much other than a constant mention of unlicensed products . A grudging reference to being less harmful than tobacco cigarettes is included . Unlicensed products fills me with dread as to what the MHRA will report in its findings - supposedly in the next 1-2 weeks !!! it's in their interests to recommend medicinal / marketing authorisations (money goes to them) I was not a vaper when the last crisis came in 2010-2011 but the govt. NUDGE unit came to the aid of prolonging e-cig use , it may come down to them again !!

Reading though the first 31 pages, they mention electronic cigarettes twice. One suggesting of the MRHA regulate it, or there is new evidence on effectiveness then the PDG have advised to have a rapid update.
If there is anything worth while I will post here, but as giles suggests, they only want to deal with registered NCPs.

On page 46 it confirms under there reviewing the evidence section, products that are smoked, that do not contain tobacco, are excluded from this section.
Sounds very much like e-cigs to me. So NICE are awaiting what the MRHA are going to say.

This article in The Telegraph summs it all up, I actually find it to be very positive, i.e. Prof Paul Aveyard, Nice guidance developer, claimed that " the guidance is clear that using an e-cigarette is safer than smoking".
