I've just started using my Gary Dibley PV from Liberty Flights with a powered USB, and it is fantastic.
It kicks in straight away and really gives a brilliant vape; it's better than my Riva (though I still like it).
I'm wondering what portable PVs give a similar vape to a 5V pass through? I'm not worried about style or looks, but I do like a good lungful of vape.
What PVs or MOD would you recommend?

Get Verey or Sean to make you a 5v box mod.

You'll need to get a 5v "mod" device to achieve that really. Seen as you mentioned Gary Dibley, he has a 5v box mod available on Liberty Flights which many people are a big fan of.
Also, Have you tried using low resistance atomisers on your Riva? this will give a similar experience to vaping at 5 volts. (little warning incase you dont know: dont use low res atomisers at 5v, only use standard atomisers)

Thanks both. I think I'll try the low res atomisers on my Riva first, and after a while (I've spent too much on this already), I'll get the 5v Mod: (I'm pretty sure this is the one deejay mentioned) www.liberty-flights.co.uk/product.asp?id=92I really like the vape I get from the 5V. Thanks.

I've been a 5v vapour since last July and love the extra hit you get. Tried LR's, both cartos and atty's, but did'nt think much of them. For me you can't beat the real thing.
I use a GDPT at home plugged into an AC/USB adapter and a Box 101 when out and about and the batts last a good 10 hours of fairly heavy vaping.

Griz, have you tried 901 LR's? On my GGTS I find they give me an almost identical vape to the 5v I get from a GDPT. Tosh, I'm really glad to hear you got your powered hub & loving the GDPT

Yes I've tried various LR carto's and atty's and in different forms i.e. 510, 901 and 801 as well as kr808's and all feel harsh to me, besides which they also destroy the flavour too much, which to me is the most important thing.
T o use an analogy, to me 5v is like drinking a nice tasting coffee as opposed to LR's which are like drinking cheap nasty chicory coffee.
LR suits some folk but not me I'm afraid.

I don't like LR atties either, they make my throat dry and the inside of my nose very sore (and I sneeze). The standard type last longer too. Fox

Tosh, I'm really glad to hear you got your powered hub & loving the GDPT It's perfect for vaping at my desk; no batteries to charge and a great vape. Perfect! Though my daughter reckons it looks like I'm smoking a bong! I'm not even sure what a bong is, and I quizzed her how she knew of such things! She's 14 years old!!!! >

The same reaction I got Tosh when I showed my wife. I'm not bothered what it looks like, it's a fantastic bit of kit.

I'm a PT killer Broke the wire on LF PT and my GDPT has died too Because the atty will pop rather fast under the extra voltage and you could scald your mouth with the heat of the vapour.

The one piece of advice I can give regarding the GDPT is do'nt screw atty's/carto's down too tight or you'll split the silicon grommet. Something I did when I first got mine, no biggie though as I was wanting to change the connector for an 801 fitting.
It's still the best PT in the UK in my opinion.
