Nice going Lee. It came out quite nice. Thanks. I used the original thread on ECF and on your website for inspiration. I have to say though that the wiring is probably not up to code. My knowledge extends to -plug in-charge-wait-zap! That's as technical as I got. I wanted a discharge post/button but couldn't get my head around it. Maybe next time.

I remade the whole thing properly with another flash and managed to stuff it all in a box. It works quite well but I need to spend a bit of time finding the right level to do the weld.

How easy/hard was it to wire it all up?

I forgot about the supermarkets although I'm not sure what's on offer in the ones near me as I avoid shopping as much as possible! The new shop near me has Tornado type stuff and a big row of taster tanks set up. It makes it easier for people to get into e cigs if they can see and try it I suppose.
Hopefully one day there will be a bigger range of stuff available in these smaller outlets but at the moment I think they cater more for the beginner.

Hi all. Sorry if this is old news, I did a thread search but couldn't find anything. Anyway I wanted to share the fact that Home Bargains now sell e cigs.
My local store has a tobacco one a a menthol one (both disposable) for sale. Not something I would buy but handy for emergencies.
Also while I was out today I found a new e cig shop has opened in the local shopping centre. It had a limited range of stock but again it's handy for me if I need anything.
As well as the places I've already mentioned there are a few other shops that sell the disposables and theres an e cig stand in the main shopping area. It seems that e cigs are becoming more popular which is good news for vapers. I do feel for online vendors though as that is how I've always got my stuff.

Hi all, Having seen the tsaf, sparkomatic, zapper, etc I thought I'd have a go myself. I don't suggest anyone tries this unless you fully understand what you are messing with. These can give more than a tickle. You have been warned! Buy a properly made one is the best advice I can give. It took me a while to find the flash unit but after getting one, tearing it down and setting it up was pretty simple. It's not pretty but it works. The way I use it is by timing the charge and I seem to be fairly good at guessing the right amount. The first try I just gave it full whack, my resistance wire just exploded into nothing. Through trial and error I finally figured out a method for a nice weld. Here is a wire I was practising with. You can see it has joined better on the left weld. I just need to stop jumping at the short. I'm planning on a trip to Maplins to get some proper parts for it as I just cobbled it together with bits and bobs. All in all I'm pretty pleased with myself, I plan on refining it and adding all the various extras that will make it easier and safer to use.

You both make good points. I am not against smoking at all. I hope I never have to resort to them again but I appreciate the right of people who do smoke, to continue to do so. As lobey says though we are a minority and need all the allies we can get.

If you pull a carto apart the seal that isolates the centre pin is the same as the AGA seal.

Pulling an 18650 battery out of my GG I caught the battery and stripped the plastic on it. (Cheap horrible battery) The contact of bare battery and steel GG caused a flash which burnt my hand, causing me to drop the battery. The battery had a metal strip down the side which was glowing brightly. This set fire to the carpet which I quickly stamped out. Good news, burn to hand and carpet very small, I think I'll pull through so hold off on the flowers. Bad news, one battery less now. The only scary thing was how ignorant to this danger I was. I had no idea that a battery touching the metal like that would do what it did. Lesson learnt.

Hi there, welcome to All about. I don't have any advice but just wanted to let you know I was a 20 a day smoker before vaping and wasn't really looking to stop smoking. I just thought I'd see what vaping was like. That was nearly 2 years ago now. I have had about 5 real cigs since then.
Hope you find the answers here for what you are looking for.

I don't mind Google snooping, it makes Google search work better on my phone as well as latitude etc. I sold my soul out to them a long time ago to make life easier Same here. I use Google for everything. Not really concerned with them spying on my habits, I don't think I'm that interesting. For me (Google + Android)+Linux = Easy Life.
