I have to say, I prefer PC gaming myself.
(This didn't always used to be the case. I played consoles up to the PS2. But then I developed RSI which mainly affects my thumbs when using a joypad. So I switched to PC gaming instead, as I can use a mouse and keyboard without the RSI flaring up too badly. And now that I've got into PC games - especially Starcraft 2 - I doubt that I'd switch back to getting a console, even if my RSI went away. For starters, there's no way I'd pay those kinds of prices.)

Always had an xbox, since the 1st one, i've bought every new one as well.
From what i've read/heard/seen on the internet i've already decided i probably won't buy the xbox one.
Will probably try a playstation or just give up gaming, i am finding car mechanics more satisfying these days.

MS signed a death warrant on this new console with the DRM and the high price tag. There is going to be a mass exodus to PS4. Me being one of them and I am a huge Xbox fanboy but if I want to borrow, lend or sell a game I should be within my rights to do so when I paid £50 for it.
Microsoft can stick its kinnect (which needs a fecking village hall to use correctly) and its DRM, and its overpriced servers up its arsehole, I am very angry!!!! Xbox one?? More like egg box BUM!!!!
Regards Jez

From the press realise, the PS4 will be £100 cheaper and much better because it does not need to go online once a week to play offline games and it wont charge you to play borrowed or 2nd hand games which the xbox1 could do.

Just tell your children to get a ps4. The only reason to hang onto Xbox is for kinect and possible gears of war. Rumour has it Halo will not be making any new appearances on the console. So I fail to see why you would want one now. I hate halo!!! Just go and check out the E3 2013 playstation conference. The games look stunning the price is reasonable, graphics look epic and the amount of indie games that have signed up is amazing. 4 player co-op 3D FPS plants vs zombies dont starve all new remake of abes oddesy (one of the best games to ever be made, hell of a story behind the developer too. I was offered a job with them once when I studied computer game design at uni. All the game developers are offering ps4 exclusive extras in games. Some epic games being made. Metal gear solid is back with Snake Pliskin, Destiny just looks like its remaking the FPS walking into boss battles with other teams from across the world automatically. BF4 just blew my mind with 64 player maps back and a huge amount of vehicles. The integration with tablets over so many games is amazing, acting as a commander for your BF4 squad ordering air strikes from your tablet. I could go on and on and on and on. Next gen gaming has not been this exciting for a very long time Oh yeah and Mirrors edge 2 and FFXIII in development. Can you tell Im a bit of a gamer and very excited Regards Jez ADD: <<<< E3 conference

DONT GET ONE my son is an avid gamer has 3 xbox's and after the press relise last week he would not go near the new xbox 1 i might be wrong i turn of when he starts explaining but you have to log online every 12 hrs, also i think you have to join xbox live at £11 a month, if you buy a new games you can not lend it to a friend, im sure you can not sell it so no second hand games, if you go to a friends to play you must take your full profile and other rubbish (drifted off at this point) he now wants a play station im sure if i was to ask him he would post on hear with the full details but he is asleep been playing all night again KIDS

I have always been an Xbox fan boy but Microsoft have taken the piss with the Xbox One I shall be going PS4. I understand for some people paying more for the Xbox One may be useful to have an all in one media center (only having 1 remote and having a few less wires behind your tv etc) but for a person who just wants to play games £429 is far too much the problem is there charging for the features which is a bargain if your going to use them all I mean smart Tv's cost extra! but if your not going to use them all and just use it for gaming its about £150 overpriced if you ask me. What they should have done was make Kinect and other functions "Optional" Extras.

Microsoft have dropped the ball big time with the release of the Xbox 1. They seem to be more focused on tv and using the Xbox 1 as a media centre rather than just a gaming console.
Neither new console will be able to play the older generations games (PS3/360) as you will have to have the chipsets on the motherboard to emulate the graphics. Only the first fat editions of the PS3 were able to play PS2 games and Sony ran a huge loss with the extra costs involved so won't do it again i expect.
I have always bought my new console on release week (PS1/2/3) but i think i will be holding off on the PS4 until after crimbo this time as i will be wanting to get the most out of my PS3 games (GTA5) and i see no point in have 2 consoles at the same time.

MS seem to have backtracked on some the issues that have upset gamers, but that won't stop them restoring them in the future, got some good mates all over the world on xboxlive, and I'm gonna miss them, 'cos I'm getting a PS4!

Thanks for all the feedback.
I have decided to hold back from buying the Xbox1 until I find out how many of my son's friends actually get one and I have told him that. If he can prove to me that they all have one I might consider it.
Blesss - he's not a happy bunny but tough.

I've been following this as news comes out. I'm an Xbox 360 user atm but will almost definitely switch to PlayStation 4 for the next generation. Reasons being. Xbox one will not allow you to buy or sell used games, ps4 will. Xbox one needs to connect to the internet once every 24 hrs or you cannot play your games, ps4 has no online requirement to be able to play games. There are other reasons too but the above are my main gripes. I haven't looked at the release stats or anything, but there was legislation passed which made that illegal if i remember rightly? and i am sure Microsoft did a U-turn on the connection every 24 hours, the internet is only required for initially setting up the console, it can be used offline after that.
