OK, on a value for money reckoning which of these should I try, being a complete noob to drippers. Fastech v5 special @ £3.92 delivered Vaporbreak Phoenix v5 @ £7.04 delivered Or what appears to be (used to be?) the w eapon of choice
Vaporbreak Igo-L @ £11.51 delivered Is there any discernible advantage to paying either twice or three-times as much as the fasttech one? I say this having no experience at all in this field, but I think several folk have a couple, if not all of these drippers. I know dripping is not for everyone, and wonder if I would get a better experience from the more expensive ones, but if it's not for me, then I've dropped more money on something than I need to ??? Feel free to chuck more options into to mix (at the right price point ), or will I be OK with the fasstech one?

Fasttech gear is the genuine stuff. I'm not an expert rebuilder but I have found the IGO-L easy to rebuild and use. One good thing is that you can clean it by just putting the base and coil in running cold water, squeezing the wick with a paper towel and giving it a dry burn - takes minutes. I have no experience of the phoenix however.

So that's the same as the last option? Worth 49p for next day and UK customer support But no drip-tip? (If i go for the igo-l, looks like it'll be from here then ) But - is it actually any better than the £4 one from slowtech? Or the super-adjustable-airflow one from vaporbreak?

fred, I can vouch for the Vapobreak IGO clone for sure, I am using it now double coiled and it is just great, I have the middle (airfow) one of the three and it works great, the only concern is about how long the o rings are going to last, they are starting to look a bit worn already. The airflow system works great. Both of the Vapobreak offerings only have two posts to connect to, so the FT one will be easier to double coil, not that it is a problem getting two coils in either of the Vaporbreak ones. I have the FT one on order so cant comment on that one. When it comes down to it, drippers are pretty simple devices and in my opinion all perform about the same with the same coil in them

robbySo we'll take the 'airflow' out the equation due to possible quality issues (o-rings)? Which then leaves the fasttech, which is a LOT cheaper, and potentially easier to wick/rewick, & Igo-L (probably from vapegear, then), which is almost 3 times the price, but is very popular. I'm leaning towards the fasttech one I guess - mainly on the price, but now you've mentioned the wick aspect as well........ If it is the one dave has, I think he's impressed with it.

To be honest, there is little between them. I have ordered the FT one, mainly because it is a bit different. To be honest, I have no doubt that it will be absolutely fine, these are such simple devices, but IMHO nothing like a dripper for flavour, not sure which dave has.

On 'the other thread' I think he said he had one that was very similar, and it was good. Think I'll just press the fire button one one, and if it's no good, it's only the price of a pint & a bag of crisps!

Hi fred , just catching up on this. I've got an Igo-L which I think is a solidly made cracking little RDA - one of my favourites. The finish on it is good too and with only two posts you have a fair amount of room to work with so it is straightforward to wick it. My long term favourite is clockworks' RDA which is ideal to start with, but a bit pricier. I have also got one very like your first picture. This has three posts and is designed for dual wicks - be careful as it comes ready wicked with a resistance of 0.8 - 1.0 ohms, so you can only run it on a mechanical mod and even then with a decent charged up battery it is going to blow your socks off! You can of course re-wick it to a higher resistance but if you want, say, 1.5 ohms you are going to have to get enough wraps on your coils to give 3 ohms on each of them. I've only just starting playing with dual coils and you can certainly get spectacular results from them! It is a fairly solid little attie, but the finish on mine is not great - good as a cheapie to try out dual coils on though, which is why I got it. I've got one like the middle picture on the way to try that and see what difference the variable airflow makes. If you are just starting out on re-building, you might find it better to try a two post dripper to start with and get the hang of re-wicking that first and find out what type of wire/wick setup works best for you - it is good fun experimenting once you get used to it . You can always cheat like robby of course and buy the ready made coils

davePressed the fire button on the cheapy already. Could I not just use 1 of the posts initially if I need to rewick with just 1? ??? Is it really much different to rewicking a clearo?

Should be no problem just putting one wick in - in fact many two post drippers have the positive post in the middle anyhow. The main difference from re-wicking a clearo is you have a lot more scope for varying the thickness and types of the wick and wire, but if you can re-wick a clearo you should find these a doddle
