I saw this live and got emotional too. I only wish my father had had a chance to try ecigs. He may have still been around now too.

Yes i know that Matt, but WHAT did they look at to base the statement on?They have to have tested some devices to see if they did or didnt come up to scratch. They cant base a statement that none available today would pass the Legistlation without establishing the fact.

I think its the fact they don't distribute an exact amount of nicotine. Of you look at licensed NCP's on the market, all give the user a set amount of nicotine. Where as these they dont, you can have a long or short pull on them (cig-a-likes) and then our advanced devices vary even more.
Thats why I think he can make such a blanket statement.

Back to the VTTalk episode. I just watched it all last night and when Dave got emotional... well it was hard to watch. But that about sums up perfectly what this fight is all about. Dave has a grandson he wants to see grow up and get married, I have another child on the way and I want to make sure both my Children have a Daddy till a ripe old age. A lot of people have lost loved ones to smoking and we are so lucky to have in our hands our way of ensuring our families don't have to go through that with us.
And those bastards want to take that away from us because it dents their profits.
They have a pretty cavalier attitude to human life and they are supposed to be in the business of caring? With friends like that...
I will be writing to the MHRA and my MP (again) as well as all my MEPs (again) This time I won't hold my punches because it's become obvious to me over the past 6 months that these lowlifes care nothing for science, medicine, healing or public health and not only have I lost all respect for our "democratic" system but our health system management and regulation as well.

matt1988. Why would e cigs need to issue an exact amount of nicotine? I will guarantee that if you buy a packet of cigarettes, the nicotine will vary from one cig to another, and one packet to another. Nobody dies as a result. When you drink coffee, your caffeine intake will vary from one sip to another, as you can take bigger or smaller sips. Nobody dies as a result. "Exact Doses" are an attribute of medicines, use to treat diseases.

Ok, you can take more than recommended doses of pills but these are published operating guidelines Which is why they want make ecigs medicines since currently dosage can't be measured. It's a weakness. Only device close to this level of intelligence today is the eVIC. This is of course entirely separate to the argument that nicotine is not a medicine since it has no proven efficacy. They are applying a rule against a device which it can't adhere to currently in order to outlaw them. It is like saying that a car should be banned because it can't float on water. However all cars should be treated as boats.

Perhaps we need to pursue this farcical situation from a Human Rights perspective?
If the powers that be have their way (as I understand it) then we shall only be able to vape 4mg.
I am a nicotine addict. I smoked 20-30 rollups for nearly 40 years. I need my nicotine fix to function.
After nearly 40 years of smoking tobacco I discovered an alternative that was intrinsically safer - ecigs.
If the powers that be ban ecigs and eliquid that yields more than 4mg I would have to go back to rollups (and all the known carcinogens they contain) because high-yield tobacco cigarettes will still be available and legal. Higher-yield ecigs/eliquid will not!
My conclusion is therefore that I would be forced to put my health at (wholly unnecessary) risk purely because of government legislation.
Is this not a fundamental and serious infringement of my Human Rights?
Maybe we should all club together and take them to the European Court of Human Rights! After all you can't deport known terrorists, sex traficers etc if they have a cat .... why can't it work for vapers?

oldsmokey they arent banning anything over 4mg, just anything over that would have to have a medicinal license, which would turn them into something useless. As @ashmal pointed out.
