This bit I love from the document listed as "Quality, safety and efficacy of unlicensed NCPs". Apparently the MHRA don't know much even about batteries. . .

"The role of the lithium battery in drug delivery is unknown, in particular what happens to drug delivery when the battery comes to the end of its life."

And these are people we're supposed to trust to know how safe medicines are ?

I've not read them all, but it seems that there are very few from 'real people' that go in favour of regulation. the only replies I saw in favour of regulation were from so called 'health organisations.'

This just sums it up. The names on this list are e-cig brands.

Now, let me think. An e-cig BRAND is choosing to support the MHRA in making e-cigs a medicinal product. ???

Envape make E-Lites look dirt cheap, I'm not joking. So, one can only draw the conclusion that ALL these 4 WANT total market shutdown to allow their products "through" the maze of regulation, to come out the other side and make mega-bucks as one of the few "chosen" (read, can afford) brands.

ron, true it's 3 years out of date, but the attitude shown in some of those docs is just stupid doubt whether many of those organisations will have changed their stances substantially in that time

The irony is these groups would be out of work if everyone quit the cigs, i'm sure they're on a nice little earner sat on their backsides writing crap.. I don't think anyone could foresee how popular vaping would become and it's scaring a lot of people connected to the tobacco industry in any way.
You can expect a lot of negative comments and press from people running scared over the next 12 months.

I think this is it in a nutshell. I think the exponential growth of vaping has taken them all by surprise. Sad though that even those who would eliminate smoking completely cannot see the positive side of vaping. In the last 2 or 3 years 1.3 million people in the UK have takenup vaping. Many of them have (like me) completely abandoned cigarettes.I wonder how many smokers have successfully quit tobacco over the same period using the government's massively expensive, taxpayer-subsidised NRT programme?

From what I have read NRT has a failure rate of about 90%. It may well turn out that vaping has a 90% success rate!

They're not halfwits, they will use any negatives publicised no matter when they were in their propaganda. They just blame it on the original statement then and detract if there's a problem.
