Took me 3 weeks to get the hang of vaping. Yep I'm a slow mo.
Then had a really stress full week. Daughters 18th birthday party and my ex down for the week, so bought 1/2 ounce. Tasted terrible, spent the next 6 days vaping and smoking. 30mg emergency juice made.
Now narrowing my all day vapes and improving my kit, so hopefully that won't happen again.
I am not going to say I will never smoke again, my last quit attempt last more than 8 years, but I do know I enjoy vaping and everything that comes with it.

I had given up on giving up smoking, I'd tried most of the NRT products on the market and failed miserably.. ecigs were a half hearted last attempt to get me off the stinkies. I bought a Skycig kit and thought..Hmmmmm! this could work.. found this forum took some great advice bought a Vision Ego-t 900 then... WOW! a year on and I'm still off the fags If they take away my ecig I know sooner rather than later..I'll end up smoking again even though I hate it with a passion.

Initially when using a cigalike I had to have 4 stickies each day, then I got a Riva kit & have not smoked since, I think the smell is obnoxious now if I have to go near anyone who smokes

My last quit attempt was cold turkey and lasted 2 years until the dreaded Drinky 'n Stinky Syndrome kicked in one night. Eventually got back to smoking 20 a day and was not happy about it! OH was back on them, too. Got myself an Elite whilst on a working road trip in January, mainly because I hated having to go all the way out of the B&B every time I wanted a fag. Over the course of a week, I'd cut right down and stopped completely once I'd done a bit of investigating and got myself the Innokin iTaste VV 5 days later. I've had 1 single fag since then, to see what it was like, and it was disgusting. We had smoker friends over the other weekend, smoking away whilst enjoying alcoholic drinkies in the sunshine - I did not have even the merest hint of a slight urge to join them. I vaped on my Cherry Pie & Custard which goes really well with certain cocktails... Hubby, after a few months of initial resistance, appropriated my Lavatube and a mini nova (which he's now broken somehow), has decided the LT is too big and has 'borrowed' my SS Spinner and red Evod...and has also finally managed to go a few weeks without a cigarette!

Took me 1.5days switching to e cigs, basically till I'd finished my 20 pack, since then its been vape all the way, currently at 14.5 months, with only a couple of temptations, but have not succumbed. Started on e lites for one week, then ego, then shiney shiney's.

Never touched a cigarette in the last 6months, don't intend to ever again, just as long as the politicians don't make it impossible for me to continue.
I live in hope.

I did really well for ages, but I had to vote the second option. I rarely fall of the wagon, but if I get overly upset then I reach for the stinkies. I think it is an old habit/crutch and also a kind of rebellion, as in; I can smoke if I want to! Most of the time however I am repulsed by the idea of stinkies, and a bit hacked off, because hubby was pretty much off them, and the sunny weather has made him relapse (he seemly associates sitting outside with smoking). I can't nag, because it makes him worse He is on about 5 a day atm, and he STINKS Maybe the difference is that I really wanted to give up, and he just followed along for the ride. Going from 30 a day to 5 however is still an achievement, and the good weather won't last forever

If as the original post states 50% of e cig users still smoke cigarettes then that probably means that 50% don't, still a better return than the NRT rubbish. Dave

If 50% of folk using e cigs stop smoking completely it makes them a hell of a lot more successful than other cessation methods. I'm just 4 days in, but given that I never managed to stop before (even when pregnant), that I was up to 30 a day and that I haven't wanted a stinky in the last 4 days I think that's pretty good.
