I have a seat of the suitcase ramps somewhere, some of the ramps can be quite heavy in themselves Thanks fiddles, but this baby would be way way too heavy for suitcase ramps I would imagine. I am even considering a hoist long term, but when I phone a fitter, he reckons its hard to get a hoist for my model. Bloody typical!

you would be surprised the weight them suitcase ramps can take. you want to watch out though some ramps have channels in them to stop you going off edge ,set my mother first got scooter couldn't use them as it grounded it , just something to be aware of when selecting ramp

Congrats Dolly I've just seen the link of your chair no keeping you in now. You and Mr Dolly can go to the pub and leave the car at home, You's have transportation home on your wheelchair. What you mean is now dolly can pick him up from the pub when he phones lol just imagine it, your transportation has arrived sir lol He's not really a drinker Steve. I'm the only lush in our house. I wonder if you can actually be prosecuted for drunk in charge of a wheelchair?

Oh dear! Lol Now this begs a question. He must have had one of those roadworthy scooters that do 8mph the chairs only do 4mph and can't go on roads. Wonder if that makes a difference. I guess if you got bladdered u could switch it off and get pushed lol

To be 'drunk in charge' of a vehicle you don't even have to be driving it. Sleeping in the back of a car with the keys in your pocket can still get you nicked

Sleeping in the back of a car with the keys in your pocket can still get you nicked Opening the car with the keys is enough (my BIL was done for that), so if you've had few, don't go back to the car for something you forgot. In fact give the keys to someone else and don't even have them on your person.

What classifies something as a vehicle though? Is it using a key? Maybe not as I have heard of people done for drunk in charge of a bicycle. Electric wheelchairs are quite different to mobility scooters. They don't use a key. Either way I'm not sure I'd want to be drunk using either of them. I have lots of scooter experience from shopping malls, but only ever used an electric wheelchair last year when we were lucky enough to get Olympic tickets to go see Usain Bolt. They gave disabled people free use of them for the day. Controlling it took far more concentration than a scooter because the joystick is very sensitive! I reckon you would be in far more trouble with it after a few G&Ts LOL

Here you go, basically anything that isn't walking and relies on a mechanism with moving parts that you go along the road on/in.
Also with experience you will get much better at the controls until it becomes second nature. I have seen wheelchair ballet done by those in motorised chairs and it was amazing.
