Looks like i will not be vaping for the next wee while as i seem to have tonsillitis and my throat is in agony!
Anyone know of ways to relieve the pain until i get to the doctors tomorrow?

If you have tonsilitis and not just a sore throat, you should phone NHS 24 and get seen by a Locum and started on Penicilin as soon as possible!

Thanks Karma. Will be going to my local doctors in the morning, Just looking for something to sooth my thrapple right now as it's rasping. I might try some ice lollies and try and get plenty of fluids in me but by fook it is hard to swallow!

For temporary pain relief, gargle with salt water. I have had tonsilitis alot, and it really helps - but tastes disgusting!  |

It's been coming on since friday. Yesterday i had a bit of hot and cold spell and it has continued on today. Currently sitting here well wrapped up at home and i am shivering. Been quite dizzy with sore joints too.
Been gubbing Paracetamol the last two days aswell as gurgling Solpadine tablets which are vile tasting!
I will take a trip to the shop for some honey and give that a try. Cheers for the advice.

Beware, Solpadine tablets contain paracetamol! Don't overdo the max amount of paracetamol for the day!

Get them chopped out works even better i was lucky to have mine removed at 14 We asked our GP about that due to my son getting it all the time and he said they don't like to doing it anymore as the risks having them out is higher not having them in. |

I don't wish to be a scaremonger, but in my 20s mine got so badly infected my throat and tonsils swelled up so much I couldn't breathe . When I got taken to A&E it looked that bad a junior doctor admitted me to the isolation unit believing (wrongly) I had some weird tropical disease  by the time it was decided it was extreme tonsillitis I couldn't be removed to normal ward in case I had other germs!! My poor kids spent the next 10 days looking at me through glass and talking via a phone on the wall. Once swelling had gone they whipped them out. Never had trouble since. Please go to doc ASAP! |

My son gets tonsillitis 2 or 3 times a year, every year and his illergic to penicillin, bless him, he hates having time off work but his really quite bad with it, and has no choice, we asked the doctor if he could have his tonsils out but they refused. He tends to get through a ton of lollies, so I have a freezer full of lollies all the time, feel for you Stu, it really appears painful
