Well I've tried a bit of mixing my own juice and come to the conclusion that I'm just no good at it. I've mixed strawberry, banana (that cracked my protank), irish cream, gooseberry, coffee, champagne, rasberry, apple, ddl and combinations of these but nothing has worked for me. (other flavours as well)
A banaberry cream recipe I found was quite nice and the coffee mix was good but basically all these 'fruit' flavours just taste a bit sweet to me, I think my taste buds must be burned out although I can taste what ddl does to a mix it doesn't excite me the way some people talk on this part of the forum.
I know that a few drops of EM or ddl or menthol can rescue a mix but they still don't do it for me so I'm going to have a break from mixing and stick to what I have learnt and know, ie. any tobacco flavour with added caramel tastes good to me, strawberry, vanilla and a drop of TW kool tastes like ice cream to me so as long as I've got something to vape I'm happy.
I just wish that I could detect the flavours that people talk about on here although I do like what ddl does to a mix I don't get the nuances.
So have I destroyed my taste buds by eating too many curries and smoking too many stinkies or is this just a phase? I've been vaping for 4 months and enjoying every minute but at the moment nothing tastes any good apart from baccy flavours.
P.S. anybody know what to do with 60ml/12mg of undetermined fruit mix? I think the sink beckons.

Not all flavours are for everyone Mike, be that your own mixes or ready made . . . there's a range of concentrates that everyone on here raves about, to me they just taste of wet musty dog. It's finding what you like and enjoy, you seem to have with your tobacco's. So if it's not broken . . . don't fix it for now. That said, 4 months is still reasonably early into vaping and you might find in a couple more months your tastes have changed again and you enjoy a fruit flavour or two. You could try mentholating the fruity mixes you've made.

Stick them in a cupboard and come back them in a couple of months, you might be surprised what they turn into!

Im still learning mike and im drawing from my own job(chef) in the learning process. Its unknown territory how each ingrediant reacts when mixed just now so stick to simple flavours(mint, strawberry other fruits) and really begin to understand how those flavours work in the mixes and in time you / me will be able to know whaty a likely starting point is when combining flavours.(gotta do our apprenticeship) Just like in so much cooking theres a fine line between something being "good" and then overkilling it....less is more Cheers ps i dont suppose you know what i can do with the most god awful disguting treacly tasting tobacco flavour i screwed up making do you

I've really struggled when mixing my own - some flavours are overpowering, some fade into insignificance. I finally came up with something that I love (10% doppio espresso, 10% LT Ecigs coffee), plus I'm beginning to get a feel for some of my other flavours, but it's not as simple as it seems. I think you just have to keep experimenting (if you have the patience) and trying different percentages. It's a pain when some flavours don't really emerge until they've steeped for a while, and some interact with others to give unexpected results - but that's half the fun for me - just like cooking with different ingredients that may or may not complement each other. Cooking is easier really, because you get more or less instant results! If in doubt, add chocolate, I think

Not gonna advise you as I am still learning myself but it might be worth trying a menthol flavour to bring your taste buds back to life. I made this mix once and it was awful so I added something else it was still awful, so rather than give up on it, I added something else, well you know what, It was still bloody awful, its was in the cupboard for 2 months before I got round to binning it.
Have you look at the members recipes on here as they seem to be tried and tested.
When mixing something new. try making small recipes and if its horrible its no biggie.
Good luck mike, I'm sure you find something you like.

Thanks for the replies, I got my order from VaporBreak this morning and in amongst the juice was a little dripper atty that I'd ordered as an afterthought. I've washed it out, primed it with some banana I mixed a month ago and what a difference!!! Tried some strawberry from the same time, brilliant!! I'm now dripping some apple tart and starting to feel like I've raided a sweet shop The fruity flavours might not be completely my cup of tea but as a break from the baccy stuff it's lovely. Might have a try at that vanilla custard everybody raves about now. I think a Kanger T3 is no good for fruits and my Protank has too high a resistance and needs recoiling, after I fix the leak.

Looking closely at it I think it's been repaired with some silicone or something. It leaks from under the bottom collar so hard to tell, maybe I got the bad one in the batch.

That's the plan now I've got the dripper to test them.

Not sure it's their fault, it was lost in the post for 2 weeks and may have been thrown about. What I can see may be whatever the Chinese use to stick the glass to the ss and the juice has changed it's colour. As far as I know I'm the only one who's had this happen so don't want to put anybody off, I'll email them and see what they say before naming names.
