Homemade Donner Kebab recipe

This is just amazing, better than the kebab shop if you ask me. The recipe is taken from the Take Away Secrets book, by Kenny Mcgovern

The pitta salad is...

2 red onions
1 carrot, grated
1/4 cucumber, thinly sliced
4-5:red cabbage leaves, finely sliced
1 large handful of shredded lettuce
1 tomato, sliced
1 tbsp lemon juice
3-4 tbsp red kebab sauce (will add that next)
1-2"jalapeno chilli peppers, jarred ones
Pitta breads

Place ....will brb, phones ringing

Yayyyy i have that book i saw it a few weeks ago while on Amazon looking for Kindle books & thought how handy that would be, me being me though bought 3 one each for my daughter & son & their families & one for our house, must admit though i haven't tried any of the recipes as been too busy learning as much as i can about vaping

Sorry about that..lol so...

Place the sliced onions in a bowl of cold water for around 30 mins, drain well through a sieve and pat them dry.

In a large bowl, combine the sliced onion, grated carrot, sliced cucumber, sliced cabbage leaves, shredded lettuce and slice tomato.

Add the lemon juice and mix well. Dress with red kebab sauce and garnish with jalapeno peppers.


The Red Kebab Sauce: serves 1 person.

6 tbsp tomato ketchup
4 tbsp water
1 tsp mint sauce
Chilli powder to taste
Pinch of salt.

And there you go, so yummy and very easy now we know how;)

Oh I love my books, use them instead of paying through the nose for a Saturday night take away. I love Sundays as I make the Maccyd's sausage or bacon mccmuffin sandwich. Will postvthat tomorrow if anyone wants it.
